Angry I am FURIOUS...You think Ferrari Maint & parts are expensive, wait until...

you hear this...
My CBC machine at the office has been acting up for few weeks and after several unsuccessful attempts at fixing it,i finally and unwittingly made a service call..
The technician right away i mean within 15 seconds of listening to us said the machine is contaminated so has to be decontaminated..the funny part is,the retards at Labsco trouble shooting never once during the tel conversation mentioned about this contamination ****ing thingy...
Anyway after 4 hours of leisure work where he took an 1-1/2 break as well,he finally made the machine contamination free
He then goes to the break room to work up the bill and leaves it with my office manager and here is a rough break down ..
1)-Travel time....Charged me for 1 hour at $250/hour,usually it is a 2 hour trip, made me wandered why he only charged me for one hour..found the answer on the next page...
2)-4 hour labor at $250/hr----$1000
3)-Parts...( on the next page )
a)-2 small tubes at $150/apiece ...$250
b)-a small plastic valve at $550
c)-Misc-el small plastic parts at $400
So the total bill to make my friggin CBC machine CONTAMINATION FREE came out to
$2500 and you guys thought FERRARI maint and parts were expensive...
LABSCO the lab company is a total ****ing rip off...please repeat after me....LABSCO the lab company is a total ****ing rip off ..
I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER NOW...

Did you ask him for samples of the contamination? You need to know what was in the machine to keep it from happening again as well as proof...

Oh, I see now...it's all a part of the cost of belonging to a "cost cutting" HMO...

Ahh. Now you know where to make money. Selling service parts and service!

Too bad there isn't a Pelican Parts for your CBC machine.

Are you in some sort of field that has a magazine (Modern Vampire, Lab Tech Monthly, etc) or association newsletter? I'd send them a letter for publication asking others in your field what they are paying and if the charges seem excessive. Expose the ripoff artist in a non-libelous fashion.
