When I am on the boat in the wintertime, it rocks me to sleep. This time of year, it is motionless in the marina, so it is actually harder to sleep.

Sex cures most everything.

Yes, but I had an argument with my hand and it's not talking to me right now.

If you are not blind yet, then make up and restore the relationship.

ambien has worked for me in the past, but you can't use it regularly.

I put on old F1 races. The sound of the engines slowly puts me to sleep on the couch...

Le Mans the movie never leaves the vincinity of the DVD player for exactly that reason

hand job. get a willing giver, or in a pinch, self inflicted.

NASCAR and beer. Works for me everytime.

I've had chronic insomnia for 5 years. I've had to take 1 Lunesta every night since September 2005. I've tried EVERYTHING and the docs I've been to don't know what to do...

I cant believe it hasn't been echoed here. ZMA. no prescriptions, no voodoo, no hangovers, no side effects. No joke. My entire life, I never slept consistently until I started taking this stuff. I don't believe in miracles, but I've talked 3 other people into trying this stuff and they were believers within a few days. It works.

Porsche-O-Phile 06-23-2006 07:19 PM

Since grad. school and certainly since flying cargo I've never had that problem. I can sleep anywhere, anytime for any length of time. No lie. It irritates my wife who has weird insomnia problems which I can neither understand nor help with.

Melatonin and a sound machine work well. I prefer ocean, but the stream blocks out more noise.

Shuie 06-23-2006 08:07 PM

Its basically Zinc, Magnesium, and Vitamin B-6. Its sold in the GNC type places as a workout recovery type of thing.

Drink til you pass out, that is the only thing that works for me.

I'm not a big fan of ebay but you can get a similar thing made by homedics for a quarter of the price, makes the same sounds but come in a white plastic box.

edit: ebay not necessary, this is what I got.

Try melatonin, 1-3 mg qhs. Do you dream?

Bob H.
I suffered for years - spent a few nights at a sleep clinic and a plethora of prescription drugs (as well as a CPAP mask). Nothing worked and I was irritable all the time due to my sleep deprivation. I stopped using tobacco (Copenhagen had been my vice) and I have been going to sleep within minutes of lying down since. My three year anniversary is coming up on 03 July - and yes, my wife and I celebrate that date. I do not know your situation but this simple change worked miracles for me.
