Red face What does this "Creepy Crawler" look like to you?

Found this guy on the wall as I was walking in the house:

What could it be? Is it a Brown Recluse? If so, please tell me so I can dispose of it. If it's a regular old garder spider I'll leave it be, but it's still getting OUT of here. The spider looks to be an inch in length.

F*ck, it's gone now. Time to go spider hunting. I hate having arachnaphobia... daddy long legs are ok though. I let those hang out in my room, but any spider like the one pictured, I'm outta here.

wolf spider maybe? Big & ugly, but harmless. We have them all over the place - I'm not too fond of them, but I let them be...

This guy is over 6-8 inches from end to end.

This is a Wolf Spider. The shiny things on her back are a pile of babies!

brown recluse are smaller than 1", non?

Apparently we have an abundance of brown recluse in CT, but sightings are very rare.

Good God, man! You're in Moraga! More Black Widows there than you can shake a stick at. I'm in Alamo and I have Black Widows all over. They love my garage.

Brown recluse is pretty spindly looking, more so than your guy. Nasty bite, sort of like copperhead venom. None in Cali to my knowledge

I've never seen any black widows around here Moses. They're probably all hiding somewhere, as they should be . Honestly, the spiders with eggs on their backs are just too gross. Ewwww

Those weren't eggs, they were hatched, baby spiders! If you squish the mommy, the babies just run!

can of deodorant ( or any other spray from a can thing) and a lighter...
there's something about fire that adds a little more satisfaction to the ordeal... call me a firebug, but that's the way i see it..

How about one of these? Its an Orb Weaver spider. The webs are tough like a Black Widows but it is supposedly a harmless garden spider. I'll keep my distance just the same.

Matt, you FOR SURE have black widows around your place. I see them everytime I clean up, move something etc.

A few weekends ago, I was at my buddy's place (1500 acre parcel in the hills outside of San Jose) and we took his ranch truck out to go get some boulders to build a fire pit with. When we moved this one rock, I saw the BIGGEST black widow I have ever seen! HUGE!

Thankfully, spiders don't bother me a bit.

Snakes on the other hand......then I turn into a little girl and freak out!

Home Defense. Use it inside around baseboards windowsills, under appliances, etc. Works quite well and lasts for weeks.

Years ago, my daughter had a little apartment in Titusville, Fla. I was staying with her a few days and racking out on the couch. She told me not to get too concerned if I saw something creeping around after dark. She had a huge Wolf Spider living in her closet and figured it earned its keep by eating some of the other crawlies that inhabit the area.
