OS/Emulation experts: Can I run PPC 2002 on a Laptop?

I posted this on a PocketPC specific forum and after a few days I got nuttin. Let's see if my Pelican brethren come through......

(BTW: PPC 2002 is Pocket PC 2002 which is the O/S that runs on my IPAQ.)

*********************************************

I've tried several times over the past 2 years to successfully run HP Navigation software w/ Bluetooth antenna on my IPAQ 3850. I updated pretty much whatever soft/firmware I could, new battery and a variety of different size SD cards (up to 1 GB). However, I continually experience lock-ups and Bluetooth disconnects that I can no longer tolerate. Nothing like being in the middle of a busy highway and having your route freeze. Desperate, lengthy and dangerous attempts to reboot and reinitialize with limited success while driving is not my idea of fun.

Many calls to HP left me frustrated and at this point defeated.

So....Unless anyone has any tips to solve my freeze problem is there a way to run the HP Nav system on my Dell Laptop? I've searched for emulators but come up dry.

Any advice is very much appreciated.

There are emulators but I doubt they will support the Bluetooth stuff. (The emulators are used for development.) PPC2002 is pretty old. It seems like they are supposed to fail by now. Maybe the self destruct feature in yours was defective.

Heh heh, I pretty much bought the IPAQ (used) to use as a Nav system. Oh well, maybe another, newer model will work the way it's supposed to. It'll be cheaper than buying the Garmin I want. Or maybe I'll sell all the stuff off and bite the bullet.

BTW, the only emulators I saw were for development as well.....Thanks for replying.

Even the brand new iPAQs have their problems. I wonder if they have a Nav system built into a Pocket PC/Smart phone yet? The GPS is just sitting there after all...
