Name: Matt J
Location: Everett, WA / San Antonio, TX
Job: Engineer for a large aerospace company (bet you can't guess who)
Family: Engaged to the most wonderful person ever, no kids
Car: Used to be an '87 924S until I sold it a couple of months ago. I told the new owner about this place but he never registered. Now it's an '00 Celica GT-S. Someday there'll be something air cooled in my future. Not sure when, but someday... Fiance has a '92 Volvo 960 for what it's worth.
ETC: I split my time between TX and WA until January when I rejoin an MBA program at UTSA at night. These days I spend a good amount of time working on the house in San Antonio I bought. It's 16 years old, great build quality but always owned and decorated by old people (think: floral wallpaper and outdated... everything + a couple of botched home improvement projects involving u-stick-em floor tiles in a side bathroom). It's tons of fun and I'm loving every minute of it.
Why PPOT? Whatever question you have, there's somebody here who knows more about the topic than you do and you can get an answer.
Fun fact: I'm probably voting 3rd party for this election.

I was just thinking that it had been awhile (days) since Cantdrv posted some angst.

Job: I manage the day to day operations of the mothership's website. Boring as hell, but a good gig. Got into it as a content editor about 5 years ago, then did design & usability and then the current job of managing the site. No formal background at all, it's been trial by fire the whole way.
Family: Married 3 years, "bun in the oven"
Cars: 1) 99 e300d, which was like getting into a spaceship after driving a series of increasingly newer, but decreasingly reliable VW Jettas. I love this car.
2) 1990 4runner that I just picked up to use as a mule. Once I get it fixed up, it's getting a diesel engine.
I also maintain my father's '86 carrera cab, and consider myself its guardian. Dad gets a free mechanic, I get to play around with it. win/win.
ETC: I am a DIY junkie, and am addicted to old broken things. Cars, boats, houses, dogs. I am a sucker for a fixer-upper.
Why PPOT? It's like a manly form of group therapy
Fun fact: I tried to legally change one of my middle names to "Goodtimes", but was thwarted by bureaucracy

But I still look 26, it's the Norwegian blood. But the bad thing is I quoted myself because I had to go back and see if I had already posted on this thread. Gotta go now, I need to amend the "Depends" if you know what I mean.

I guess I can update mine, since this thread is 2 years old.

Name: Matt J
Age: 28
Job/Education: Aerospace engineering degree, project engineer for a local aircraft company (ends with ...craft). I'll probably go back for an MBA once round 1 of student loans get paid off.
Family: Married 6 years, 4 year old son, 16 mo daughter.
Cars: I've owned a few over the years. Current toy is a '95 Mercedes C36 AMG, which is probably the best compromise between comfortable daily driver and sports car that I've owned. It's a very well made car in great shape, we'll see how long I manage to keep it. No doubt, I will someday again have something air-cooled.
Etc: My family is pretty much my life, my son is getting into sports so that has started to occupy some time. My primary hobby is tinkering with and cleaning cars, as I'm an anal-retentive SOB. I love avaition (hence the career) and a pilot's license is on the short-list of things to do. Remodeling (former career) keeps me busy as well, as we are slowly remodeling our home. Otherwise I enjoy having a beer with friends and watching sports, especially Kansas State (sad days right now).

Cars: real early (made in Sep. 84) guards red 1985 944 N/A and a crappy 89 Ford Probe.
Etc: I am an avid collector of antique and curio & relic firearms, and do a lot of volunteer work at the free clinics.
