Unhappy D@mn today is 8/3/06 which means I am 40 now

I swear the last ten years just blew by and I do not feel as if I accomplished nearly what I should have. Time to start jogging and watching what I eat I guess. Others tell me it the years following 40 take their toll on the body much quicker than the earlier years.

I can't help but feel depressed and a little bit panicky. Maybe it is time for another midlife crisis. I suddenly feel the urge to start looking at 996's!

Happy Birthday.

I am 57 and still feel 18, although my weight has started to shift.

BTW, be sure to stay on track seeing your doctor and getting your yearly exams.

Best wishes on your day.

I went through a total transformation at 28-30, I bear no resemblance to the man I used to be. I feel like I'm 50 now and I'm not kidding (I'm 32) I can't imagine how fukced up I'll be at 40

And Tim, you're fine. I can tell you still have a ton of energy and you don't look at all weathered. Don't sweat it, just give me your secret. (I assume uppers or Coke)

Oh yea, happy birthday!

If by "uppers or Coke" you mean coffee and vodka & cokes, then by all means, guilty as charged.

I was sore for a few years after I quit competitive MX, but other than an occasional lower back pain flair up, I have been pretty healthy. I have noticed in the last few years that instead of remaining at a constant weight, I have put on about 7 lbs, yet I basically have the same eating and lack of "real exercise" routines. I think I am going to have to start "dieting" and jogging a little. (I hate jogging )

Oh well, I think the diet will have to wait till tommorow as my wife and I are going out to dinner tonight at a favorite restaurant.

Thanks for the pity guys!

Happy Birthday!!! I've still got 10 months before the big four ohh.

I usually feel as good as I did at 18, but ever so often some new pain shows up. They go away, but not as quick as 20 years ago.

I just hope my wife remembers what and who I want for my 40th.

Look on the bright side, you've got two decades that your age begins with "F", then the downward spiral begins.

You may be 40, but look on the bright side, you're only 4.4 celsius. Happy Birthday.

Thumbs up

Happy B-day, Tim!

40 is the new 30, and I actually still felt really young until fairly recently. (I'm 47). Now I need to start exercising regularly just to break even, if you know what I mean.

My Mom told me something interesting once which is that when you are young, you think that you will be different when you are old. Then as you get older, you realize that you are always exactly the same person and just the body is getting older. Hopefully you have lucky genes, and that process will be slow. Have a great Birthday!

That's the way I felt. Of course, attending a large nursing school beginning at age 42 gave me a lot of incentive to "act healthy" if you know what I mean.

Your mother is a very smart woman, and completely correct.
