What the hell are they packing in luxury cars these days!!??? I was cruising down the interstate yesterday, running a little late for an autox. I was in the fast lane and moving a little faster than traffic, but nothing drastic. In my rearview, I can see a sedan in the distance gaining ground steadily, but I knew from the shape that it was no cop. No worries... just let 'em come on. As it gets up beside me on my right, I look over and there is a guy with a huge grin looking at me from behind the door glass of his Bently. And then he droppped the hammer and that thing was gaining ground like I was still parked at home. Of course, I relapsed into teenage mentality mode and hit the fast pedal - but I quickly saw that my 3.0 wasn't going to take any glory on that trip.

Reviewing the Bentley website and models, I believe it was an Arnage. Quote:

You also probably paid 1%-5% of what he did. I find this immensely satisfying about my 944 Turbo. Total purchase price for the car was $7,000 and after about $3,000 in repairs and upgrades it'll whallop the crap out of cars five to ten times its price. I wouldn't feel badly about getting "beaten" by such a vehicle anyway. Just smile back and give him a wave. Cool ride and you can take satisfaction in that you're laughing all the way to the bank. I don't care how much money you have - $300,000 for a car is flat idiocy.

Clarkson's roadtest of the Arnage T is an all-time classic. What a car!

The most aggressive and fastest drivers I've encountered have been behind the wheel of a Chrysler Pacifica. http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/oneyear/112_0503_2004_chrysler_pacifica/ Quote:

I'll echo a lot of what has been said here. I wouldn't feel too bad. I'd hope if I spent 3 times what my house cost on a car, it'd whoop most things out there. I won't race many other cars, except: 1) Goofing around with friends on non-busy roads in unpopulated areas. 2) If someone has persistently challenged me for more than two stop lights. I usually purposefully go very slow out of 1st gear if someone is trying to race me. If I know there is a cop up ahead, I might even rev my engine a few times before going very slow...
