Say hello to my latest .45.

I can't wait to inherit my dad's stainless Commander, so I decided to get my own full size 1911. Finish is called blackened stainless and photo does not do it justice. Thank you www.gunbroker.com!

now repeat after me...............i will shoot 200 rds rapid fire of (3) flavors of hollow points. i will pick one flavor ONLY that groups best. i will clean gun rigorously. i will load clips and unload clips once a week so as springs do not take a set. i will adorn it with night sites.

AND IT WILL GO BANG EVERY SINGLE TIME!

my p-car loves my springfield micro-.45.

Rick,

You ever want to venture down to the wilds of Southern Maryland, I have an outdoor range on my farm.

We have some interesting targets...

Beautiful 1911.

Yes Joe, I will get a Kimber too. Honestly, I was looking for a Kimber Custom II and it was a tough decision between that and the Springfield. But I think the Springfield finish will hold up better, since it's stainless and not the matte black of of Custom II. Before I had my P220 refinished in NP3, the slide would sometimes turn a little rusty after a long day of carrying in hot, sticky weather. I really only carry in the car now, but I like for all of my handguns to be carry-ready. And I haven't seen any other finish like this Springfield one except on the SIG Equinox's, which I don't like. Nostatic, SIG GSR's are way overpriced and the frames are made by Caspian (or so I heard). SIG should stick to what they do best and leave the 1911's to Colt, Kimber, Springfield and ParaOrdnance.

Mapquest Leonardtown, Maryland.

Pick a nice weekend day (falls here!) and drive the Porsche down.

I know some really nice back roads in the area as well.

And the Kimbers and Springfields and Ed Browns of the world alogn with others are DEFINATELY soing them right these days. I also have a P220,and as far as feel and functionality, there is no better DA 45 IMHO.

I got my Kimber Ultra CDP back from Kimber with a new slide and all kinds of goodies and if fires like a champ now. All of the work was done for free, and extremely timely as well.

The only change i have made is that I still use the Wilson Combat Magazines as they are light years ahead of the factory Kimber Mags.

I need to take some pics of it and post em. The finish has held up well carrying it for well over a year.
