Cool My New Toy

We Just bought a new 2005 BMW M3 Cabriolet last night at Weatherford BMW in Berkeley. After about 5 months of searching for a sports car that would "fit" me, yet would be practical as a day-to-day commuter car, I finally found the car I wanted. We all went down to the BMW dealership at around 5:00 last night and went to go see what they had in stock. They had about 4 M3 coupes and 2 M3 cabriolets to choose from, all of which were very nice cars. After talking with the salesman, we test drove a manual and SMG (Sequential Manual Gearbox) M3 and decided to make our desicion. We choose the '05 M3 cabriolet with SMG. We figured that SMG would gives us the best of both worlds (dad really likes automatic and I like manual) and that it would be nice having a cabriolet in California - plus the salesman gave us a heck of a deal on the '05 cabrio. The original sticker was $62K and he dropped it to $55K and included 3 free coffee mugs, 2 keychains, and a cabriolet wind reduction screen to go between the back seats. We decided that we had a deal and 2 hours after the papers were signed, the car was ours. The car sure is neat! The front seats are heated, the convertible top goes up/down with a push of a button from the key, the sound system is awesome, etc etc. The car only has 200 miles on the odometer so it's practically NEW. The driving experience is unbelieveable! The car is pretty dam fast too. Here are some photos of the new addition. I'll get better daytime photos up tomorrow:

I am green with envy.

Very nice. If things are good for me after the lease is up on the Audi I might look into purchasing a used M3. My favorite BMW.

Good luck with it.

I love the M3 cab. One of my all time fav's. Congratulations.

Does the CPO on the M series go to 110k miles like their other models?

Um, there might not be any CPO. (It's new isn't it?)

After some quick research, I realise that they didn't make the M series in '06 but continued selling the '05 coupes and M series stuff. So it may well be a new car and not used. Even a better score!

edit: Where are my manners? Congrats on the new ride, Matt. Very nice. I'd probably opt for the stiffer coupe bodystyle in a hi-po car like an M3, but you're a convertible kind of guy, anyway. I'm just jealous my parents weren't so....ummm....supportive of my automotive addiction when I was your age.

Congrats Matt! I've always liked BMW cabs and the M3 cab is king. What's going to happen to the 911?

Nice car!

Personally I could never, EVER buy "same day" like that - you're a braver person than I. . .

Thanks guys. It sure is a very nice car. It looks way too tame in the photos to be honest! . Chris, I might bring the M3 down on that Oyster Run whenever we will have it. Any news on when it will (finally) be? LOL.
BTW, CPO'ed M3s get the 100K mile/6 year guarentee.
As promised, here are some daytime photos:

Your Dad is nicer to you than I am to my 18 year old. I couldn't afford that for myself, let alone my kid. Nice car though.

55K out the door on an SMG cab is a great price, no need for the mugs
