14 Year Old Kills Intruder

Ah, this is how it should be done. Kudos to the kid. An intruder jumps him and his mom while they are carrying groceries into the house. The intruder ties them up, but mom manages to free the kid, who retrieves dad's revolver (and he clearly knows how to use it). Mom and kid lock themselves into a room, intruder tries to break down door, kid shoots intruder dead. Well done, son.

14-year-old protects mom, shoots intruder

By: Associated Press

CORPUS CHRISTI -- Corpus Christi police say a 14-year-old boy shot and killed a man who broke into his family's home and threatened him and his mother on Tuesday.

The man, whose name wasn't released, confronted a woman as she was carrying groceries into her home, Police Chief Bryan Smith said.

The man forced her inside and tied her and her son up.

The woman was able to loosen the binding and free her son, who got his father's revolver from a security box beneath a bed, Smith said.

The suspect tried to break into the room where the two were and threatened to kill them both -- then the teen fired a shot through the door, Smith said.

The intruder was shot in the head.

Last night on COPS they were baffled by a dead guy laying in someones backyard. They pan over to a broken sliding door glass panel. Apparently the armed robber broke the glass and as he entered the homeowner, who was sleeping on the couch right next to the door, grabbed a gun and drilled him. The kid made it 15 feet before dropping.

Shot through the heart and your to blame....

Downtown Seattle, just the this past week, a guy was shot and killed in front of Westlake Center. Some lunatic (out on parole after setting a childrens daycare center on fire) was randomly attacking people. He knocked a 52 year old guy down and started kicking him. Guy on the ground pulled out a .357 and shot him dead. Police described it as justified.

This is a complex legal question and I'm just not satisfied that I have all the information I need to pass judgment.

Was there a window they could have escaped from?

Could he have shot for effect and had the intruder flee?

Did they try to reason with the intruder first?

What was the intruders childhood like? Could he really be blamed for his actions?

Etc.......

Like I said, it's complex...I'll let you know,.

I did an edit from your quote - now the answer is clear to me

Hmm......are the families goods and his mothers "Getting force raped in front of her son" really worth this mans life? I'll have to mull this one over.....

I hope he emptied the gun in him

What???? Complex??? Let's look at it like this:

Intruder breaks into YOUR house; ties up YOUR wife and son and threatens to kill them. They escape to a locked room in YOUR house. Intruder tries to get at them and is beating down YOUR door.
If you think this is questionable, your heart is bleeding for the wrong "victims".
By the way, I truly hope neither you or your family is ever put into that position. Criminals are predators and anyone could be next.
The intruder, attacker, possible rapist and murderer got what he had coming.

I read the first post and half of the second and was set off. I then re-read the second post. When I got to these two statements

Quote:
Did they try to reason with the intruder first?

What was the intruders childhood like? Could he really be blamed for his actions?
I realized it HAD to be a joke

What's sad is that those beliefs are common enough that people thought I was serious.

BANG! BANG! BANG!
