Vampires
So, I'm in Romania, home of Transylvania, and looking at my open window and thinking about Vampires.
So, if Vampires exist, will they eventually become extinct from AIDS?

Doubtful.
I'd imagine that most diseases/viruses need a living organism to survive and make sick. Since vampires are undead, they wouldn't get sick. If you don't get sick, you don't need an immune system anyhow, right?

I roomed with a vampire once. Allergic to sunlight, disliked crucifixes, went out late at night to "grab a bite to eat," though he never took his car on those late night food runs. Oddly, he was a real fan of garlic, though, disproving that little myth...

That mathematical proof was BS. What if the vampires didn't allow their victims to live, then they wouldn't all be vampires...
I think a better proof-spoof would be assessing the caloric content of human blood, I bet you'd need 100's of people a night to survive on it.

Chris, I think you're right, but it was fun to post anyway.
Besides, vampires don't convert 100% of their victims to vampires, just those they choose to let feed on them. That would be a better proof for werewolves, but a werewolf could alway kill their human victim...or live on rabbits and livestock.

I read somewhere that the myth was started with the Romainian ruler Vlad-the-Impaler, and combined with an outbreak of anemia(?) which recesses the gums, whitens the skin, and creates sensitivity to stong light and smells.
