Seems the Right Wing is showing some signs of panic. I don't know what poor Rush will do if the Republicans take a beating Nov. 7th. God knows it's time they got taken down a notch or two. It would be healthy for them and for the country.

I think Rush will do just fine if the Dems retake Congress. At $2 million a month, he'll be the last to suffer. Why would he panic? He'll only have more material if Pelosi becomes speaker. And it would really help the GOP for '08.

The fact that any of the GOP faithful even listen to that gas bag should be cause for concern and self examination.

I really mean that. The suffering of others should NEVER be a subject of ridicule.

This topic has shown a great divide among attitudes. I wonder what a psychologist would make of many of the posts.
What are are you talking about? I ridiculed no one, if you need a monster to slay look elsewhere.

Please demonstrate my "ridicule". Good lord what a jackass.

Seriously Bob, show me where I ridiculed anyone, or mocked anyone. When you're done searching I expect an apology.

I predict you come up with some lame excuse not to argue anymore or some other BS tactic as you know damn well I didn't. Offensive as hell Bob, and a low blow to boot.

Even another edit:

You guys are so anxious and giddy at the opportunity to show Rush (and in turn me) as an evil unfeeling beast that you don't even stop and think why he/I might say what we say if we were not evil bastards. You don't even process past that point. You actually think I would partake in or defend the ridicule or mocking of a poor soul with a debilitating and painful disease? Think about what you're accusing me of.....

Then take a step back and realize that more likely than that is that you and I departed ways on the discussion long before that point and you're not hearing what I'm saying but rather finding what you're looking for.

complete agreement.

Plenty of GOP ads bother me too, but I haven't seen one this cycle (remember where I live) that comes close to the level of the MJF ad.
Then you obviously haven't seen the ad here that is for a county treasurer, pointing out his opposition is FOR ABORTION.

LOL

What the hell does a county position have to do with abortion?

God, at least the politician that MJF ad talks about can do something about embryonic cell research. At least the voters will be voting for something the ad discusses that the candidate can do something about.

No, IMO, this ad is not even close to being bad.....

Help the GOP how? With all due respect, what fortune telling are you engaging in now?

The Rush issue aside, I have to take issue with the idea that being against Federal funding for ESC research is the same as being against all stem cell research. It simply isn't the same. Yes, most labs get some, if not most, of their funding from the government. However, private and/or state funding is available if you wish to do ESC research. There also are federal funds available for labs who choose to do research on the 60 existing stem cell lines. Also, perhaps I am mistaken here, but are you saying that a lab that decides to engage in stem cell research isn't eligible for funding for their other projects? If not, then the lab certainly would "survive", wouldn't it?

The simple fact here is that not everyone in this country wants to rush forward and start experimenting on human embryos. The issue here is our tax dollars and what we want the government to spend our tax dollars on. If ESC are so promising, then it really shouldn't be a problem to get states or private firms to invest in the research. This idea that you have to be on the Federal teat to make progress in a science field is simply bunk, IMHO. Look at the recent privately funded space flights as an example.
