king penguin returns!
if any of you have the chance to see fleetwood macs lead guitar man LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM................DO IT!
played celebrity theatre(phx) to 3500 seat sold out crowd. unreal guitar work. this guy is good solo. had back up band also. talk about somebody with bloody fingers! wow! too watch him play is beyond words! only playing small venues. acoustic clarity like no tommorrow! no stevie nicks, but her mom was there, and he dedicated a song to her. played a good solid 2+hour set. worth 40 bucks a ticket there is alot of pent up aggression in this man! |

we sat there in AWE! saw fleetwood mac years ago on the late 70's tour. and he was good then. he is better now. possible reunion coming up. he is still pissed after the TUSK fiasco, and he mentioned it, as well as played it. band didnt like him producing, and they told him so. thats what blew them apart. as i get older, i shun crowds ie. stadium shows. he really was good, do not miss him if he plays near you.

I well remember back in the '70's my little sister was a HUGE fan of "Fleetwood Mac". I guess there were a pretty good band; they just shouldn't have been called "Fleetwood Mac". Without Peter Green or Jeremy Spencer, most of us no longer considered them as the "real" Fleetwood Mac. Break out the old "dog and dustbin" un-named first album, or "Mr. Wonderful" for the real deal.
Lindsay Buckingham is good, don't get me wrong, but a real reunion would include Green and Spencer. I have heard Green has been playing with some other folks off and on, so maybe there is hope. I'm sure most folks are looking forward to the Buckingham/Nicks/Fleetwood/MacVie and MacVie lineup, but it would be nice to go back to the first. Buckingham should continue to stand on his own two feet; he is much better that way, and Fleetwood Mac would be much better that way.

Buckingham is a great guitarist.
Fleetwood Mac died when Peter Green left

i am really dating myself here. tickets when i was a kid were $3-4-5 @ the celebrity theatre which is celebrating 40yrs of going roundy round. have been to numerous concerts over the years. some i remember and some i dont! if your ever here in phx. when someone you like is playing the celebrity...........DONT MISS IT! acoustics like a recording studio. hell many bands have used live tracks from there on albums.
gregg allman is next on the list for us to see. tidbit of trivia..........my high school g/friend worked at goldwaters store here. she used to sell stevie nicks her LACEY UNDERWEAR! hahahahahahahaha! |

I'm seeing him Sunday night at the Arlington Theater in Santa Barbara. 19th row just a bit stage left. It's a great venue, and I'm really looking forward to it. I've always liked his solo stuff (especially "Out of the Cradle") and have been listening to his "Under the Skin" album for a few weeks now.

hey hit his web site. some cool pics. didnt play much of out of the cradle, was kinda bummed. really wanted to hear countdown and be sent into outer space from wailing on that guitar. we had pretty good seats years ago for fleetwood mac and he just was incredible. took a number of songs that were kick ass and went acousitic solo on them. his voice was perfect high to low. his percussionist is using a electronic drum kit, so as a drummer btwn cd (studio)version and live version i can tell a difference. you will not be disappointed. anyone that misses this tour is going to be upset. dont be surprised by the age demographics of the crowd........i was feeling pretty young and had a hell of alot more hair than most there. hahahahaha. tell me how the show is. sorry no cameras allowed at celebrity. if you can take any pics, go for it and post them.
anyone that really listens to music or plays music is in for one hell of a good time. WORTH EVERY PENNY! |

I did a "warm up" last night with my cousin (who plays professionaly) going to see Peter Frampton at the Canyon Club, a small venue in Agoura. The guy still has it together and put on a good show. He played all the hits and even some Humble Pie stuff. He didn't play "I'm In You"
though, thank God..
