I just received spam email...from me!
Seriously, the address is my own yet it is from someone trying to sell me watches. I didn't think it was possible to have identical email addresses. Scary stuff. Should I close out my address?

It is trivial to make an email look like it came from any address. Don't worry about it. I'm sure if you examined the mail headers it came from somewhere else.

So, did you buy a watch from yourself?

That's very common. You didn't actually receive it from yourself. They just often fill in the senders address with the same info that they use for the recipients address.

No problem - if you have a simple email address with real names like I do they construct your address from lists of names and ISP endings - its why my spam checker traps 250 a day.
