If U get past the Showbiz, U can actually learn something from him. But I owuldn't touch anything that he recommends or hates. The vultures are circling.

When Cramer pushes a stock, I take that as a sign to get out. The stock has just been bought by weak hands and fast money.

Doesn't always work, and is only one factor to consider, etc - standard disclaimers.

If you listen to shows like his with the intention of learning a thing or two about his methodology, that's one thing. If you're listening to them with the intention of having them tell you which specific stocks to buy or sell, you're a fool.

He does actually offer some good advice on what to look for if you get past all his schtick crap and dealing with bonehead callers.

ITs a show designed fore ratings and entertainment. You're fooling yourself if you think he knows nothing or you know more.

The show itself yea, it’s on the topics of the market and stock picking per se but it’s not designed to pick stocks for so you can just sit back and rake in the dough. If the ratings were not so strong they’d have killed the show. Ultimately it’s a slick package that gets good ratings and sells add time whose topic is the markets and stock picking. By no means is it some real educational journalism on the markets.

As far as Jimbo goes himself. He’s been hugely successful in his career in the markets prior to this show and prior to his appearance on the TV scene 10 years ago. Perhaps I was mistaken in thinking that people on the internet bash him all the time and believe he is a clown who knows nothing. That’s the opinion I got from some of the posters here, and I get it all the time on the options boards I frequent. I was not trying offend anyone, I see a lot of people who bash him all the time as they manage their 8 thousand dollar portfolios.

Cramer don't know ***** about the market, and neither does anyone else. There is no such thing as a 'player' when it comes to the stock market. It's all a game. Sometimes you win. Sometimes you lose. If it weren't for inflation, I'd have lost more than I won. Such is life.

There is no point in arguing about peoples opinions, nothing said here is going to change anyone’s opinion on the markets or the people / professionals in them. Being both a CBOE and NYSE member and having traded on the floor as both an institutional market maker and an independent market maker lets just say I don’t agree with your opinion. I my 20 years in the business I have seen some excellent traders, some excellent investors and some very poor ones... plus every kind between the two.

The markets serve a function in the global world and global economy, they’re not without risk and for those who are not comfortable with that kind of risk there are hundreds of other investment.

I don’t know Cramer personally, although I met him once, I do know about his record outside the glitz of TV it’s well documented and his record says he does know something and has done very well over the years.

When I hear the term “player” it makes me think of some greasy guy in a vette with lots of gold chains and money to burn who thinks he can compete vs. the professionals in the markets while sitting at home.... but that’s just my opinion.

well, I'm sure you changed someone's opinion with your prose.

If we all reserved comment for only those things with which we have intimate knowledge, the OT forum would have a lower post count by an order of magnitude. Let's not interrupt this party. I like it just the way it is.

Well said! I had not really ventured off the 911 boards until the other day so I am new to the OT. I am not looking to change anyone’s opinion and I have never worked on the sales side or dealt with the public in my career.

Cut me some slack I am new to the OT, I will start in on my outlandish opinions on all sorts of things soon, thanks for the heads up.

If you think owning a 911 gets you a free pass from the hazing, you're wrong. Prepare to enter the new slipery slope. You can never leave.

Oh, I think there are "players" in the market. There are players in any rigged game. The players are the ones with access to knowledge and information that makes greatly increases the odds of their winning the game.

Couldnt someone on TV like cramer say "buy xyz like your life depended on it" "boooyaaa" then some cow bell sounds and the like.

then when everyone who trusts him is buying he just sells and makes a bunch of "mad money" "booyaaa"

I still think he is an ass clown.
