Stop being an arsehole, Joe. While you're here, care to comment on the lack of due process offered the man?

Are you talking about the same "due process" that you advocate throwing out the window when you push the overthrow of the United States Government? Is it that "due process" or is there another that I have overlooked?

You cannot have it both ways Slopat, you either follow the rules or not and we all know which way you want it. Better hunker down in your bunker as they are coming to get you anyday now!

SJ, at least I have a backbone son. Someday yours might grow but we doubt it!

Since I've never advocated abrogation of due process, it's apparently something you've overlooked, or more likely, can't imagine.

I see your problem now, you think "the rules" were handed down from on high by the state. That's not where the rules originated, and since that's true, we don't need government to be involved in them.

So far, you've not exibited one, when's that going to start?

What are you talking about Joe? And I am not your "son"

Your circle jerk comments were disgusting.

One thing about you is clear, Eric, when we Americans find ourselves in need of an idiot lesson, we will be coming right to you for it.

Under Saddam, the wood and car would have been confiscated and the citizens executed. Now, we let the citizens go, but execute the car. Same story, different time.

Perhaps in that example you'd be correct. However, since the US government has killed five to six times the number of Iraqi civilians that the Hussein government did in 30 years of rule, it's hard to claim that the US government isn't executing "wrongdoers".

There is no such thing as right or wrong in Iraq. The head honcho makes the rules. It was a mess and is still a mess.

Please do--I can then utilize countless fastpaste threads as case studies and examples.

Great, waving an automatic rifle around, occaisionally batting the soccer ball with it, all the while with children off the muzzle.

Charming.

$100 sez that if you looked out your front window and saw a guy with a automatic rifle playing soccer with your kids, you wouldn't be quite so glib about it...

Yeah. So? I don't live in Iraq. I also don't live in a war zone. Duh.

You really think those kids have never seen an automatic rifle before? Come on.

You guys are awesome!!

techweenie 11-30-2006 08:31 AM

Most of us dont doubt that 90% of interactions with Iraqi civilians are positive. The problem is that the 10% that are not tend to have lasting effects on surviving family members and communities.

I see nothing wrong with this vid.

kach22i 11-30-2006 09:51 AM

All those Iraqi's are probably dead by now anyway. No use crying over spilled milk.

Jeff Higgins 11-30-2006 10:53 AM

Am I the only one here that sees right through this video? It was entirely staged. There is no way in hell that car belonged to any of those guys sitting there earlier in the video. There is no way in hell those soldiers would have filmed that, or would have allowed that to be filmed, if what they were doing was "real". I'm sure they all understand they would have been in the brig immediately. The car was abandoned, or it was confiscated for some other reason than looting firewood. Probably had armed men in it, or materials for bomb making, or any number of things.

Don't any of you question the over-dubbed narration? Some dickhead with an anti-war agenda got his hands on the video and over-dubbed his personal slant. The man talking was clearly not there, and almost certainly did not make this video.

Once again, however, the rabid anti-Bush/anti-war crowd so very much wants to believe this. It's just such any easy sell to you guys. And you are so very eager to believe this, you never question why these young men would do such an awful thing and actually film it for posterity. What a gullible lot.
