I am correct, that video is ancient, and was right after the invasion.

I even know the story behind it, which obviously, you do not.

Those poor abused Iraqis you are carrying on over were caught by their fellow Iraqs, and had looted LOTS of things, not just firewood.

The Iraqis flagged down a US unit, and after some discussion between the elder Iraqi present and the US onscene interpreter acting in concert with the US commander(a 1st Lt Company XO IIRC), it was decided that they'd run over the car in public as a message to ALL looters that looting will not be tolerated.

See, if you remember the background, the entire country of Iraq was being looted to the bone. Looting that, in reality, did about 300% more damage to Iraqi infrastructure than the actual invasion did.

A big part of the problems that we ran into subsequently were a direct result of the nation-wide unchecked looting.

So there, now you actually know the story.

thanks for the backstory sniper.

Funny how the intitial giddiness of our liberal friends evaporated so quickly after some adults watched the video and explained it to them. Now most of them are gone, or trying to change the subject. It still amazes (and saddens) me no end just how quickly and enthusiastically they pile on, even before they do any kind of serious evaluation of the supposedly incriminating material. They just want so very badly to catch Americans doing wrong. I don't understand that.

It's a byproduct or more likely an outgrowth of their self-loathing.

Wow, once again a PPOT thread degenerates into "neocon" vs "pinko" name calling. Is is that hard to have a rational discussion and listen and consider an opposing point of view?

No, not hard just uncommon.

What makes you think we are interested in rational discussion? If you want rational discussion, go watch Oprah.

I really doubt the intent of the OP was to foster rational discussion and consideration opposing viewpoints.

;)

You're certainly correct about that, there is no rational opposing viewpoint, and that is the point.

The Bush'ists on this forum are some of the most irrational, illinformed, and downright cultlike people I've seen anywhere. They'll literally ignore facts, events, and mountains of evidence to defend their cult leader, G. W. Bush.

turbo6bar 12-01-2006 06:12 AM

I dunno. There seem to be a few rational opposing viewpoints in this thread. I'm not taking sides. I wasn't there.

ha-ha...this is the funniest post I have read in quite a while.

The only correct, rational viewpoint in fastpaste's eyes is fastpaste's.

If one doesn't agree with him, then one is "not an American", "incorrect," "uneducated", or just plain "wrong".

Thanks for the laugh

Fastpat's by far not the only one that you can say that about.

The video has already been proven to be not anything close to what the poster tried to spin it as, yet you keep trying to jab the knife in the ribs of the soldiers. Brave boy you are and sure your tree hugging friends will appreciate all the risks you took in your feeble attempt to help. Unfortunately you guys lost the argument but still do not realize it.

Joe, your MO is as sad as it is predictable. "Liberal circle jerk" (your views are those of a child, not formed or worthy of serious consideration) "Brave boy" "Son" (we are conserrvatives. We serious, and we know whats best for you.) You are not a Conservative, Joe, by any means. You support the most radical expansionist, aggressive, destabilising Administration the US has ever known. However-

There were no WMDs.
There were no WMD programs.
There was no WMD infrastructure.
There were no links to Al Qaeda.
There is a shotload of oil.
There is Military Industrial complex making large piles of money and driving the US economy
There is a Neo Con play for hegemony in the ME.
3,000 US soldiers are dead.
n00,000 Iraqis are dead.
Israel is still pounding on Palestine.
There are more crazy Islamists now than there was on Sep 10, 2001.

OBL is still at large.

And you are a clown, Joe.

Dang it, I watched that video over and over again and I still can't figure which one is Dubya.

And you are the norm Stuart? If so the world has a much bigger problem than terrorists right here at home.

Have you finished humping the dead horse yet? Make sure that you clean your hands and mouth off when u are finished!

Humping a dead horse.

More than 200 people IIRC died in Iraq last week. I dont know how many US soldiers died. I wonder if the families of those soldiers and would agree with your assessment.

You are aware of the recent election results in the US, I suppose?

Joe, your repeated references to cirlce jerks, saniwipes, humping "washing off hands and mouth"...its not funny and it makes you sound both fixated and really stupid.

It's all they have, Stuart. All of their position is completely vacant now.

No Stuart, I live in a root cellar (next to slopat) and have not heard any news in years. There has been an election? Jeez I should have voted. Did Truman win again? (Hint, I have been in the Middle East for most of the last 6 weeks and know a hell of a lot more than most about what is going on over here. Just returned from Beirut and if you want a tip, stay away, its going to erupt and soon!)

Hey, you guys are now in power. You guys are going to save the world by cutting and running and drawing down the military again and we will be safe in the forest hugging trees. (course the trees are slimy already but I do not hug trees myself, leave that to you guys).

Fixated? Give me a forking break. Its your side that continually posts the same old crap and expects someone to believe it. "Cut and paste Slopat" is one of the worst examples and you two hang together like fleas and you expect rational human beings to stand up and respect this point of view.

Hope you guys wake up some day but its not going to happen anytime soon with pearls of wisdom like yours above.

JA

PS, Circle is spelled circle, not cirlce. Fixated is what you guys have been doing, getting all glazy eyed and after jerking each other off like has been happening through-out this thread, you will need something more like a whole body wash. Enjoy!
