Hey Tabs: Rest, Fluids, stay warm, vitamins, clean the darth vader Machine and replace filter to guard against reinfection. Get some Halls defense Vitamin C Enchinacea & Zinc Cough drops and pop one of em every few hours. If you start coughing up nasty dark stuff go to a doctor or E room. I put a shot or two of booze in my humidifier to help kill the bug and ease congestion. Use sparingly as it buzzes you out. Clean and disinfect all bedding. Wash your hands a lot.
I had something similar. It held on and on. Sounds like a respiratory infection. Take it seriously.

>What's UPPP? Don't ask me to try and spell out what UPPP stands for. It is a surgery that involves cutting back anything that might block your upper airway. It includes tonsiles, Uvula and the soft pallet. It is a truly nasty procedure, but for the right people it works. Surprisingly, the ideal candidate is middle age and below and has a mild case. If you are way overweight, and in your sixties they don't recommend it. The recovery time is in the range of 2 to 3 weeks, so it isn't for the faint of heart. There are other non CPAP options that don't involve surgery. There are various dental appliances that help some folks. I just want to be able to sleep like a normal person. BTW, Tabs: A BIPAP is a dual pressure machine. Usually used for someone who has a very high pressure setting. The lower pressure part of the cycle is supposed to allow you to exhale without the resistance of the higher pressure. An APAP is fully automatic in its pressure selection based on its ability to detect apneas. Generally, you have fewer apneas in the lighter stages of sleep. The APAP adjusts the pressure as necessary. They are a bit more expensive than a straight CPAP or BIPAP, but some people find them the only XPAP option that works for them.

Tabby, I look at it like this:
1. You'll get well. In that case, you have nothing to worry about. 2. This will worsen and you'll die. In that case, you'll have nothing to worry about. Stange as this may sound to you...I'm hoping for #1.

Denis,
Tabs needs to be the "blowee" not the "blower" if you know what I mean. Clears out the nasal passages and blows out the ear wax and puts a smile on your face! joe
