We always have a real tree for Christmas. In our town of Fillmore we have a train that takes you to the local tree farm where you cut your tree, throw it on the flat car and the train takes you back to town.

This year though, we had a huge wildfire that burned almost 200,000 acres and we have a lot in the burn area of Lockwood Valley that we are going to buy a live tree and replant there.

I usually just go out drinking with my buddies and end up going to the local city park and cutting down a tree and dragging it home.

Kidding. Only farmed trees for me. stimulates the economy, it all gets recycled, the tree eats up CO2 and gives off oxygen while it's alive, fake trees are bad for the environment

A good friend of mine ownes this place:

I help him every year on Sundays when he does the hay rides...I drive the Gator and pick up the trees for those that want it.

I recommend the experience for your kids should you be so inclined!

Cut noble fir. The fake trees look pretty good these days but I refuse to go that route. We used to trek up the mountain to a tree farm but the wife and I don't care for douglas fir.

Fake, up early, and last year I took it down end of Jan. May come down sooner this time, as SAM has discovered the ornaments taste good.

This tear we have two trees. One in the kitchen/great room. one in the living room. Fake in the kitchen. Cut in the living room. My wife is The Queen of Christmas. She already has the fake one up and trimmed.
