1/3 scale ferrari
this is a bit OT, but Im not sure where else on this forum i could put it. If you guys have never seen this video it's incredible. A 1/3 scale ferrari that took 15 years and 20,000 hours to create. The engine works and even the gearbox works...

Truely unblievable, but if your going to build it from scratch why build in 1/3 scale and not to scale so you could actually drive and enjoy it?

thats true, but i would think he would need some more heavy duty machinary to make full sized parts (such as the engine).
By the way, it was a flat 12, were a lot of these old race cars flat 12's? |

Way cool. I've actually seen this vid before- couldn't help but wonder...what are the chances of talking this guy into spending his next half million working hours building a 1:3 scale 959?

He should have made 3-4 more as he was making the parts so he could keep one & sell the rest.
And I agree, he should have just gone ahead & made a full-size one instead so he could drive it. Doug

With his talent, I would think that he could train a squirrel to drive it in a full nomex suit and helmet. Now THAT would impress me. Especially if he made a scale model of the 'ring or Spa, and the squirrel set a lap record. Pretty impressive, none the less.

Regardless of what he shoulda/coulda, that is nothing less than impressive! That is a very patient, studious, ingenious (read: creative), meticulous, tenacious person. Makes me wonder, however, what kind of social creature he'd be. He's probably not the proverbial "life of the party", if he even socializes. Nonetheless, I find it impressive

If I was the head of Ferrari, I'd be like
"Here just TAKE a Ferrari. You've earned it"
