The cat standing next to John in that pic is Mark Ralph,,he drove one of those champagne edition Sirocco's and the girl was a thirty sumpin(double our age back then yikes) divorcee with a yellow vette that had a huge crush on John. The fiat you mentioned sounds like Dave Gainey's,although I remember a guy named Vic (not Van Tress) that had the same model and color. If you look back up the thread aways Bart posted a pic of it with John's 68 SS. |

You have me stumped. I grew up behind Tasty Freeze at Victory and Fulton and knew that area well. The only Auto Parts stores in that area was Victory Auto Parts next to Chris & Pits BBQ or Huffaker on Woodman that eventually moved to Lankershim and Kens Auto Parts behind the carwash. Ken also had an AC shop next door. For a moment in history: at Woodman and Victory we had a Texaco station on the southeast corner with Alpha Beta behind it, Galaxy Carwash on the south west corner (Kens A/P behind it), Phillips Gas on the northwest corner with Taco Bell behind it. On the northeast corner we had the Richfield Gas Station with Jack in the Box next door. There was a Woodman Auto Parts down near Oxnard next to Vics Bicycles though! Can I buy a vowel? Jeff |
Here's that shot of Tony's 510 in front of John's house. Remember that one?

This '68 Camaro had a nasty big block and I think Bill S owned it. This looks like Mulholland east.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1170825308.jpg Cool Car. |
Something to the tune of "Gentlemen Start Your Engines" is appropriate for this picture. Opening day.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1170825625.jpg I find it ironic that William Mulholland died penniless and a broken man because of the St Francis Dam disaster yet his namesake road is so famous. I wonder if he liked to drive? Here's to you Bill ! Thanks for giving us a hundred smiles per hour. |
Well guys, my scanner is on the fritz. I have done what I can with my digital camera, but if these are really bad, I will re-do them once I get my scanner fixed.
In the summer of 1978, I was the only 9 year old wandering about clutching this copy of New West Magazine. I have it virtually memorized, and have had a rather unhealthy infatuation with the IROC tail ever since. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1170825406.jpg |

UPDATE: I just emailed the Camaro pic to a friend Dave V. He said this very unique Camaro may still be around or at least was up until early 90's. Stay tuned! |
And some better IROC tail shots. Just to keep on Porsche topic.

Since the time that this thread began it has become the most complete visual depiction in "Mulholland Drivers" history on record hands down. Its not over yet -in fact I think we are just getting warmed up.
Keep em coming guys. Jeff |
Jeremy - what a great read. Thanks for posting!

The poster artwork for the movie KOTM was actually pretty good. Capturing the "drama" in a
single image advertisement the artist gets my thumbs up. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1170833496.jpg Classic shot from KOTM: L.A's finest giving Harry Hamlin an invitation to make a donation and a chauffeured ride in a two tone sedan to the big house. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1170833523.jpg Jeff |
