Thanks very much Koyne. The modified photo done by John (heel n toe) really makes the car look complimented. Much appreciated John for that photo.

Dave M. and I are planning video shot in the car.
It is taking time due to there being too much on the plate at the moment.

As Dave said in a previous post, we had been going thru old receipts and Mulholland paperwork...and we found something that I hadn't seen for over 25 years. I believe that almost all of you will find it interesting (at least). Heh, heh.
As soon as scanned it will be posted here.

Don't say anything yet Dave. (I know, that's what happens when you save everything).

No thoughts, I don't have a T.V., didn't see it.

That had to be one of their earlier episodes. it was goofy and unfortunately they had a wet road to try and make time on.
It is definitely not socially correct to close the road (legally) then see how fast a time they can make with the cars back and forth. The CHP was required to cooperate given the film permits and all, but you could see they were not happy about it: way too many noobs pile themselves on mul hwy.

the bad boy side of me would have liked to see them on dry pavement- that would have been a lot more interesting

They are both talented drivers

Porsche Crest The Turn Sheet

Thanks for bringing out those receipts! Amazing how inexpensive parts were.

The handwritten notes on Mulholland were a great read...

Now that you have the driver's racing bucket seat installed, I'm anxious for you to get the passenger seat installed as well, so that we can get some video....
Here it is! This is what Dave and I ran across while looking at old paperwork.
Sometime late in the 70's (around 1978) John Hall and I drove along Mulholland and wrote down the names of all the turns before we ourselves would forget their names.

This "Turn Sheet" as we called it, will be published in the second edition of The Mulholland Experience, but you who love Mulholland might appreciate seeing it first.
The first draft that John and I made that day is what you see here. These will be added to the Mulholland turn map to place them in the accurate position on the road.

Do you know where all these are in their location on Mulholland?

I know where most of them are, but I must admit I'm partially limited by my inability to read the handwriting. Any chance you could type this out for us?

Chris, are you going to bring the KotH RSR up to Monterey for the Historics in August? It might be sacrilege to park it the concours shows but it would sure look neat in the Porsche corral at Laguna...

I agree that it would be fun to display at the Corral this year.
It's worth discussing. Is anyone here planning on going?

I'm planning on going but I'm not sure if I'm taking the Porsche as I have no place to stay and would have to commute 110 miles back to the B&B....we'll see though.

I've already bought a corral-pass for my 3.2 Carrera, I'm a Monterey Bay local. Laguna's quite a ways from the KotH's natural habitat, but it would sure be neat to see and hear it among the hundreds of P-cars that are going to show for the Historics.

Porsche Crest Mulholland Closed

Mulholland is closed between Deep Canyon and Coldwater Canyon for re-paving.

They started early this morning. There was no warning except for all the heavy equipment parked near Fire Station 99.

Trucks have been coming in and out loaded with old pieces of Mulholland that they have scraped off.

New asphalt will be put down tomorrow after they have finished scraping.

The new surface will be from Java Dr. (visible in Photo) to Beverly Dr. (near Marlon Brando's old house)

Last time this was done (sometime in the 80's), it was "Le Mans time" up on Mulholland.

It sure is awfully convenient that they are re-paving near home and on my favorite section of Mul.

(I wonder where the cameras will be hidden)

Wow! They're re-paving Mulholland?! I thought the city had forgotten about our road.

Derek, I thought that they were leaving it crappy to slow us down, like speedbumps. Lots of 'em!

I wonder how this can be afforded in this economy.
Not complaining, just curious how money was diverted to fix Mulholland at this time.

Street makers do an excellent job here, the road surface should be unreal smooth and clean.
