Other forums worth reading

Like most of you, I suppose, I spend the majority of my forum browsing/reading time here at PParts.

That said, I also like to hop over to Miata.net, clubrsx.com, and vwvortex.com occasionally.

I find clubrsx to be dominated by ricers (big surprise, right? ), but I can usually find answers to my questions there.

The other two I just enjoy reading for (mostly) intelligent conversation.

What other threads (car related or not) do you guys read and think are worthwhile?

I read BowCountry occasionally, and, although a lot of the members really know their stuff, the communication skills aren't very good. Good resource though.

I also read Vortex every now and again, mostly when I have questions on my Golf. I just lurk though, never post.

Is SlashDot considered a forum? If so, I read that also.

edit:

I also read 2CPU.com, but it has gone down hill lately. Used to populated by very intelligent, experienced veterans of SMP (and even some AMP) systems, but now it's, well...the computer equiv. of "ricers" at least from what I have read lately. It got me started on SMP boxes and SCSI subsystems though.

The Grassroots Motorsports forum is civillized and quirky. Lots of good how-to, and if you are a gearhead who can appreciate a diverse range of cars it is worth a visit.

I spend maybe 15-30 mins a day checking out mainly this forum. I've almost run out of Porsche topics to discuss and check out the OT. One thing I can state without question is how well run and respectful this Board is. I'm amazed at all the crap that goes on in other forums. Maybe its the lack of moderators or the age of participants (seems like mostly 12-16 year olds), but most other forums end up in name calling without any accountability. Kudos to this board and its moderators.

i like vwvortex, turbobuick.com, ls1gto.com, speed channel forums...i kinda hop around, but i like reading here for the quality of discussion issues...thanks to the political threads, I have gained perspective from the liberal wack jobs and the right wing nut jobs....and thanks to Cool Chick, I found out that Chicago is the center of the GOOD MUslim universe

Yes it has a whole subsection that is very active.

The address is actually www.egullet.org

It rather pretentiously calls itself "the egullet society of culinary arts and letters" but is a very active forum with members from every corner of the globe who enjoy discussing food and drink.

AR15.com for active general discussion (populated by a lot of people who think similarly to me)

Lately I've been on 986forums lately... since I got a Boxster two weeks ago. We're already planning a trip to the Tail of the Dragon in May...

Occasionally swissrifles.com, since I love my K31s.

No, it is pretty safe for work. Any links on it that are NSFW are clearly marked.

I called in A10s as a Marine--awesome experience. That freaking 30mm (it is 30mm, right?) makes the most incredible noise.
