Baby found in oven?!
Are you ****** kidding me?!
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/1110AP_Child_Abuse_Oven.html Why is it that anyone on earth can have a child? Just absolutely, positively, pathetic. What the hell is wrong with people? Bring her to Wichita, we can throw her in our autoclave, that should teach her.

That's a good comparison as far as i know. To the best of my knowledge a PBA involves sticking a needle of poison in a baby's skull as it's head pops out.
Needle, oven, murder...what's the difference? |

Um...this is what this thread is about:
Fla. woman allegedly puts baby in oven THE ASSOCIATED PRESS ORLANDO, Fla. -- A woman was charged with aggravated child abuse for putting her baby in an oven, turning it on and leaving her apartment after fighting with her boyfriend, police said. If a person wants to talk about another topic, they usually create a thread that pertains to that topic. Why change the topic of this one by the second post? Or, would you prefer changing the heading and original post to the new topic, and I can create a new thread with the topic of this one? Because the original topic of this thread merits discussion as well, which will probably not ensue now. |

There seems to be a rash of this recently, what's the deal? Has our society gotten so self-centered that some think of their own kids as disposable?

ONLY $15,000 bail!!!!! I won't respond to the PBA stuff other than to say I don't think they're performed very often, and I'd like off-ramp to provide some statistics since it seems to be important to him.

Sterilize everybody at birth, must put up $100,000 bond to have it reversed.

First: It's Flori-duh. You expect otherwise from the intellectual powerhouses down there?
Second: Drop the abortion crap. It has nothing to do with this. There are too many people on the planet anyway. Third: The comment, "Has our society gotten so self-centered that some think of their own kids as disposable?" makes me think - at what point DOES human life become disposable? There are an awful lot of people here that think it's okay to kill someone who's done them wrong or done society wrong or just because they're in the wrong place at the wrong time (Iraqi civilians), right? Yee-haw! Let's kick some ***** and pass me a beer and one o' them hand grenades, right? Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending this woman's behavior (she belongs in a mental institution permanently) but I find the comments here pretty trite. Maybe she realized her kid was gonna' grow up to be another Flori-duh white-trash meth-head criminal with a mile-long rap sheet of violent crimes and was trying to save the criminal justice system some time and money in advance. Who knows? I do agree with one thing though - people ought to be sterilized at birth and only have the process reversed after procuring the necessary "breeding license". In order to get it, you post bond (as was mentioned - good suggestion), pass a test demonstrating a certain benchmark level of intelligence and education, pass a physical fitness test, have several personal references and genetic traits consistent with those beneficial to the continued survival (and advancement) of our species. To my knowledge we're the only species on the planet that artificially selects for WORSE traits in our population rather than better ones, determined by "survival of the fittest". Reverse Darwinism on our part will eventually destroy us.

Drawing a parallel between killing a terrorist in a war and a baby in the oven is pretty irrelevant, but you get bonus points for creativity.

You can be Indian, Hispanic, Asian, European, African or whatever and still be "white trash" in Florida. It tends to transcend ethnic boundaries.

While I realize the argument of sterlizing people at birth and making them go through training to get a license to have babies is somewhat facetious, that's exactly what's wrong with the world today. Lowest common denominator. Because 10% of people are morons, the other 90% have to suffer. It's why we have warning labels on EVERYTHING. It's why lawyers are the new rulers of our land.
Along these lines, my wife and I were in pre-natal classes for our first born recently, and the issue of birth control came up. You know how the success rate for condoms is something like 70%? You know why that is? Because so many people are too f@cking stupid to figure out how to use the f@cking things properly. The stats include pregnancies due to misuse, not actual failure of the condom. That's unbelievable ridiculous! How about a stat for the rest of us who aren't completely inept? Once again, lowest common denominator. Sorry for the rant. We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming, "Baking with Babies".

Yep. And these same people that are too retarded to properly put a rubber on their d*ck are the ones sharing the roads with you and I - usually in oversized 7,000-pound SUVs with "bling bling" spinner wheels. Makes you feel so much safer, doesn't it?
America today (includes Canada) is just like the Roman Empire in its decay. Same patterns of corruption, abuse, excess, indulgence and lack of discipline, fiscal restraint, etc. The end result will be the same as well, perhaps substituting "China" for "invading barbarian hordes".
