My son called to tell me that there is a thin layer of ice on my pool in SoCal!

Well, I'm not in South Cal, and it is a chilly 66 outside right now, so I feel your pain as I head to the local pub:cool: in a bit. Of course, I'm still in shorts but won't be taking the top out:p
Yeah, it was a kind of misty 65F degrees here and overcast. Expected low tonight is 48F.

Since when? Saturday night/Sunday morning? From midnight to 7AM Sunday morning was the coldest time period so far...

We had to close the windows on the house and turn the A/c Back on today.

The a/c at my office is on the fritz and the A/c Company promised to be out tomarrow to fix it. It hit 80 degrees in there today.

I left the P-car home today and drove a work truck with a/c as well it hit about 83 today and muggy as hell.

I wonder if we will see a really cold March / April like we normally do in El Nino years. God likes to punish the spring breakers.

Sunday morning he called me here in Auckland. I fly back tonight. I leave at 7:15 PM (Tuesday) and arrive at 10:15 AM on Tuesday, funny world. Depending on how I feel when I arrive at LAX I plan on driving over to Santa Fe Springs to get my crankshaft for the DB4 back from the hard chromer. Wednesday, I'll get the block back from the other machine shop and see if it all fits together like it (I hope) should.

Nothing like God giving teenagers a cold shower.

I bought a half dozen grape vines grown in Sebring (a strange variety called 'Southern Home'), which means that they're not fully dormant. Now I'm trying to decide whether to go ahead and plant them, running the risk of another hard frost killing them.

All of the ice and cold missed us here in SE Michigan. All we have been getting is rain...lots of it!

I think our bougainvillea died. :(

slodave 01-15-2007 09:46 PM

Really cold weather in California is not a good thing. My parents bougainvillea may have bit the dust as well. Our Agriculture fields have taken a toll. First E. Coli, now death by frost.

Ok, That aside, I want to go skiing!!! Ahhhh!!!!!!!

Radio new reports this morning that seventy percent of Cali orange crop lost.

Note to self: buy stock in Florida orange juice.
