Rolex 24 advice/tips
I will be attending my first Daytona 24.
Can anyone offer any suggestions about the watching the race? Porsche Corral etiquette or advice? General info? Thanks, Jim S. |

Jim,
Go early, like opening day. Wander the paddock. Find a Porsche team and become volunteer crew. Work your tail off and volunteer for another event. In the middle of this, meet everyone you can. Make friends. Get contact info. Follow up. Great fun. Best, Grady

yep done the trip many times.......
the friday historic races are worth getting there a day early..... for saturday get to the track EARLY....say 6-7am....and drive into the infield (you'll need a pass which you purchase at the entrance of the tunnel from your car). find a spot to park away from rv's and where you can make an easy exit for later..... buy a paddock pass have fun.....before the 24 hour race starts i like to head over to the outside of the track and find a spot in the grandstands just past the start/finish line, when the full grid of cars comes by on the first lap it loud but beautifull ![]() after watching from the stands for a while we head back to the infield, and spend the rest of saturday there......always paddock activity.....also keep your eyes in the parking areas for interesting cars, there's always cool stuff there.... leaving the infield will take a while sat night with the traffic....plan some time for it....this is why a good parking sopt early is important.... we stay until after dark (although daytona is lit up now) then head out for some seafood....go-carts....drinks....not in that order. sunday morning we head back to the track but park outside and walk to the infield, paddock for a few hours then head back to the grandstands for the finish..... wear comfortable walking shoes, stick some rain gear in your car, and food isn't cheap ![]() make hotel reservations as soon as possible.....i know a great little place on the beach i've stayed at 10 times....pm me if you want the info. and have fun ![]()

I wonder if Speed will cover the Rolex as closely as the Barret Jackson Auction?

between Fox's and Speed , 15 Hrs coverage,
turning left and right will be Jeff Gordon, Montoya, J. Johnson, Stewart and some others, the driver line-up is quite impressive. Rika Last edited by Rikao4; 01-19-2007 at 10:21 AM.. |
