Advice: If cheating don't share a hobby with the person being cheated on...

Yikes!

"Skydiver 'sabotaged' love rival's chute"

January 24, 2007 - 11:39AM

"A skydiver sabotaged a fellow jumper's parachute after finding out that the woman was having an affair with her boyfriend, police say.

Els Van Doran, 37, fell 4000 feet to her death during a dive over an airfield in Zwarteberg, Belgium, on November 18 last year.

Van Doran, a married mother, had been taking part in a group jump with friend Els Clootemans, Clootemans's Dutch boyfriend Marcel and a fourth parachutist.

The four linked hands in a star formation, but neither of Van Doran's parachutes would open.

Her death plunge was captured on a camera fitted to her helmet. She fell into a garden and died instantly.

"It was an appalling moment," witness Wally Elters told Belgian newspaper Le Soir.

"I was working on my plane when I heard someone on the ground screaming and pointing to the sky.

"I looked up and saw a black spot falling quickly to the ground.

"It was wriggling about and it was pretty obvious it was a person.

"Above it were three people in parachutes coming down slowly. Then it hit the ground."

Police later discovered that Van Doran was having an affair with Clootemans's partner and arrested the 22-year-old following a two-month investigation.

"It emerged that Clootemans had had access to Mrs Van Doren's parachute pack a week before the death. A close inspection of the chutes leads us to believe they had been meddled with," a police spokesman said.

A worker at the Zwarteberg flying school said that the two women and the boyfriend had parachuted together for several years.

Clootemans had previously been arrested for trying to run over a boyfriend she suspected of cheating, but was not charged.

She denies the murder accusation is due to appear before a court in Belgium this month."

This at least has a twist.

A few times a week the New York Post and Daily News run stories about murder-suicides. Usually an older male kills the younger female. Often her kids too. Then himself. How do you stop people like that? Where do they get this from? Crazy, crazy, crazy. Usually a back story of a few beatings and an order of protection.. Happens all the time..

Ah, but how satisfying it would be to look into her panicked eyes as she frantically pulled a the rip cords. "Fuch you; you're busted" as you pull your own and dissapear above her...

Murder as punishment for adultery is pretty extreme...but I understand the impulse if there's opportunity.

I used to work with an old man who said people oughta do things to make their lives more and more simple but instead they do things to make it harder. They lose their job, so they go get drunk, they get drunk and get in an accident or arrested. I think he was right and
I try to remember it.

On that last jump the boyfriend should have put a note on his now-ex girlfriend's parachute saying, "I was here. I know you have been cheating on me you *****. Think about that before you cheat on the next guy...maybe he won't be able to resist the urge to screw with your parachute like I just did...barely!"
