scroll down for pics
http://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=413656&page=2 Wow, the turbos are where the passenger's seat used to be, and the exhaust exits through the back door (yes, it's a 4 door maxima)

How did he convince himself that would be a good idea?

I read the part about the fire. Apparently he got a set of injectors for free that was supposed to keep the thing from running too lean. He put them in, but the car wouldn't turn over. He pull the plugs and turned the car over to discover that some of the injectors were stuck open and had hydrolocked the engine. When he turned the car over it looked like old faithful spraying jets of gas out of the spark plug holes. He turned it over again. The second time the spark plugs fired and set the engine on fire. Supposedly he got the fire out fast enough to not have roasted the thing.

Hilarious. . .
It amazes me how people can get so wrapped up in their own stupidity as to actually question the inevitable outcomes. . . This is gonna' end badly.

What a dope. On the first page he says that he is getting 8 PSI. That is pathetic. Why even bother with a mess like that for a lousy 8PSI? I know of setups for bikes that end up much smaller and offer lots more boost than that.

I don't get it.
Twin KO3s, for 8psi?!? My Jetta used to have a single KO3, and it gave an easy 12psi. The vw diesel folks love them until you want 16+ PSI... they are quite small and start to get wheezy after that.

I bet that Diesel with 15/16lbs would be a lot of fun, too. Besides the bling factor, can someone explain to me why he is using twin turbos?

I have no idea how he would benefit from using two identical turbos in parallel. I've seen setups with compound turbos, where a smaller turbo is "feeding" a larger one. Here's a compound setup on a 1.9 vw diesel engine. It uses a Garret T3 and a Holsett hy35: Compounding is the only way he can spin that monstrous Holsett... he got 37 PSI before he bent the crank. He's just rebuilt it, with a gridle along the main bearings to keep the block from twisting.

Oh wow, that kid needs to be locked away. Is this legal - surely there are laws against driving this sort of thing on the road.
