1. Racial profiling. 2. Group think mentality that didn't allow for a moment of rationale thought that perhaps this man doesn't understand English well enough to respond and is reacting out of fright at the prospect of four men approaching him from an unmarked car on a dark street. 3. It was just as dark for him as for the officers.

4. Perhaps mounting frustration on the police's part over this serial rapist that had been running unchecked in their area of responsibility - pressure to apprehend building.

5. 41 shots? C'mon is there ANY justification for THAT display of force with one man in "opposition"? Not to me there isn't. Granted, it only takes one shot to kill a man. Fewer shots may have not spared his life.

This is a tragedy all the way around.
