Hang in there Dave...34 is still young. Yeah, trust me on this one. At 34, I'd have never imagined myself being as happy and at peace as I am today, age 63. Oh, me too...adopted. Never had any interest in contacting my birth mother. Birthdays never meant much to me, but can't really say they've ever been "up" or "down" any more than any other day. Try to treat 'em like any other day...at least until you have somebody you wish to celebrate 'em with. Actually Dave, every day is a good day when you think about it. So, Happy Birthday.

B-day is over. Thank you, everyone, I usually do not air out my feelings, but these last two weeks just really got to me and I really did not have anywhere else to go to vent. Now. if I could just get some people from these damn CoC events to actually call me back for my services, not just try to sell me theirs!
Thank you all!!! ![]() Last pictures from today. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

This is how I look at it......
I feel society in general (media driven perhaps?) tends to dictate what we "should" be. We "should" make 500,000 a year. We "should" have this cutesy hot spouse and picture-perfect children. We "should" have this mansion on the rolling prairie. When you watch the TV, the jewelry commercials during valentines day and the "happy" loving, perfect lovers, makes some people think they aren't where they "should" be or something. Personally, I see nothing wrong with being single, it's a choice, with not having the mansion anymore (I had a huge house, sold it after divorce, I viewed it as a LOT of work to keep up, I couldn't stand it anymore, and a financial juggling mess). I personally value people and a hard work ethic more. Find what YOU want, and now THAT is success, not what society tries to dictiate via lovey-dovey warm and fuzzy commercialism. Remember, chances are that loving couple on TV fight every other night in bloody screaming matches (yuck, what a way to live), that mansion on the rolling prairie has forced them to barely scrape by, worrying about bills all the time, racking up credit card debt, etc., etc. I personally am not impressed with people who have "things." I'm impressed with people who have heart. That beautiful drive on the ocean, now THAT is living. Think about how lucky you are to have contact with that beautiful nature, anytime you want! Exactly...the more "stuff" you have, the more you have to take care of. It can become a vicious cycle. Finding the level you are comfortable with is the key. Also, everything paid for and having money working for you is not a sin...
