Garage
you have a neutral. tie the two white wires together. take the old black wire and wrap it clockwise around the black screw. take the two new, remaining wires and wrap clockwise around the brass screws. one wire per terminal. do me a favor and turn the breaker off first.

If you don't have what you need, just try and drop a new 3 wire down from the light fixture.

Thanks

Unless you are switching 2 different lights you just need a 2 wire, preferably 12-2.

It looks like you have 2 Romex (multiple conductors in a jacket) in that box. One is a 2 wire-blk and white (they don't count the copper wire) and the other is a 3 wire- blk, red, and wht.

If the blk wire (#2) is the power feed. Turn off power. The whites (1 and 4 on my pic) get tied together and DO NOT go to the switch. They are the return path for the light. The black (#2) goes to the black screw. The blk (#5) and red (#3) from the 3 wire go to the 2 brass screws- 1 wire for 1 screw. Doesn't matter which goes where. The ground (#6) should be tied in with another copper wire that is with the 2 wire bundle. If not, just run it to the green screw. Make sure it won't hit the live terminals (blk and brass) when you shove it back in the box. I like to wrap electrical tape around the switch and cover those screws.

I missed your response indicating that the 2 wire was the feed. It should go together as I described above.

Proviso-I do not guarantee this is correct. I have NO idea how your house was wired. I can only offer advice based on a typical installation. It's always best to hire a professional as electricity can kill you.

What does this control? Get a pic of any other switch connections that also control the same device and get a pic of the device connections.
