I bought a 944 with 172,000 miles. On the way to the inspection station I hit bumpy patch in the road. A sticker on the back of the odo fell down over the numbers so all you could see was 172. That's what the entered at the inspection station . Then the DMV entered the sale date as 1995 (I bought it in 2005).

Oh, well....it's a track car and I already had to replace that engine....

My 86 951 had a clean Carfax and clean AL title when I bought it in 2000. I found out a few years later that it has a salvaged title in GA back from the early 90s. Their guarantee didn't apply for some stuid reason.

Can anyone explain to me how it takes 10+ years to input info into their system?
