Now I get it, it's fintstone in the forground.

Jim Richards 02-22-2007 02:48 AM

IMO, Chuck and fint are on target. It just makes fun of the quality of our choices. I just don't see the "hate."

Supports the theory that the right wingers of the USA have much in common with the religious zelots of the mideast.

Wait a minute... Jim hates us?

The title of the thread is: Re: Why they hate us, part 17

Perhaps it should read: Re: Why they riddicule us

Then again for those with more than a ten second memory, little evil bush said they hate us for our freedoms. Which one could say for our ability to choose and decide. Then again little evil bush said he is THE DECIDER , so now it's all a peanut butter and jelly sandwich which has fallen face down on the floor. And no one wants to pick it up and clean up the mess.;)

I get the cartoon, I get the title of the thread, you would have to be obtuse not to.

Now that is hilarious http://images14.fotki.com/v371/photo...19/lmao-vi.gif, coming from a guy who's supported a petty, petulant, dullard in that job for over 6 years.

Hi Noah,

I like typing neocon. Do you have another good word that I can use as an alternative? Thanks!

edit: Noah, I just checked...2 uses in 24 sentences. :)

Be patient, Jim, he's working up the chuff to call you an anti-Semite.

It wouldn't stick, Pat. I worked for an Israeli company a while back and I've been in Israel a heck of a lot. I like the people and hope, like they do, for their peaceful coexistence with their neighbors. Jews are just like any other religious or ethnic group...good people predominate, but some folks are screwed up. IMO, treat everyone the same.

I think Noah dislikes me using the word neocon like an epitaph. I do so with pleasure, though admitedly sometimes misplaced ( so who's perfect? :) ), as I perceive these folks to be an extreme danger to world peace and to the future of America. I've read their playbook. They are the main source of divisivenes in American politics, and their imperialistic approach to foreign affairs will cost us all of our allies in the world. It will also encourage unfriendly states to arm themselves to ward off any possible American intervention. The quicker these folks are out of mainstream American politics, the better for our country.

Other than that, I have no issues with neocons. :D

edit: OK, so, I'm up to 4 uses in 36 sentences.

According to the experts in our Chicago Mosque, this really translates "they are a beautiful couple. May they have beautiful children. Allah be praised."

Jim Richards 02-22-2007 05:57 AM

Now with their current blow up, that's funny!

Rearden 02-22-2007 05:58 AM

I'm glad we have that all cleared up. So it sounds like the editorial board of the second largest daily in the Arab world is supporting a candidate other than Hillary or Barack. Probably John Edwards.

Just to be clear, the problem I have with the promiscuous use of the word "neocon" is not that many people dislike neoconservatism (if they even know what it is), it's that 99 percent of the time that "neocon" is used as an epithet, the person using the word has no idea what he's trying to say.

Use of the word neocon as an epitaph, I like that idea a lot.

And, um, Noah, I know quite well what neocons are and what neoconservatism is. That being the case, when you see me using it, rest assured that the definition is well in hand. Based on Jim's usage, he has the definition well in hand as well.

Jim Richards 02-22-2007 06:20 AM

Noah is right that I have been guilty of being a bit sloppy with the neocon epitaph, but, I think that I'm using it correctly at least 80% of the time. I'll try to improve my stats in future posts. :)

BTW, Thom nailed it with his post...the "lib" epitaph gets over used here and, IMO, is incorrectly used something like 30% of the time.

I'm up to 5 uses of that epitaph out of 41 sentences in this thread. ;)

thrown_hammer 02-22-2007 06:28 AM

All I know is Jim hates me and if you add up the libs and neocons we are at 110%.

Jim Richards 02-22-2007 06:29 AM

Shawn, I hate you for your Vdub! I'm jealous. :D
