Joel and Shawn, you both missed my point.
Chris said global warming was like santa claus. I countered with a graph of the earth's temperature which shows GW happening. I made no mention of CO2 in rebuttal to "it's a myth" attitude. Joel, whether GW caused CO2 or CO2 caused GW may need further investigation, but as a practicality you cannot control GW but you can control CO2 levels if it is the cause. So why wouldn't you proceed with some corrective action now as the time delay for results is on the order of 100's of years. Shawn, that is a clever response, but it may be okay if the rise in temperature has diminished the numbers of pirates. Makes for a better world. Maybe you meant to say that if we recruit more pirates we can lower the earth's temperature? Last edited by stevepaa; 03-02-2007 at 02:36 PM.. |

Unless I'm mistaken, the human contribution (sans breathing) is a very minute portion of the CO2 produced. Something like .5%, but I'm open to being dead wrong on that

Farting cows is the biggest contributer to GW, so it is really the liberal hippy vegetarian's fault

OK, so far I have found it stated that human activity is responsible for 3% of CO2 emissions but that included breathing, so the search continues.

Stunning. The Earth's scientists say one thing, and now you guys have completely proven their conclusions to be entirely erroneous. I just wish those scientists knew as much as you guys think you do.

If global warming really exists, these scientists will benefit finanically, Not a little bit, but by windfalls.
Suppose I convince the government there is a problem that only i can solve. They would bury me in money so that I could solve the problem. Same thing is happening now. These scientists want grant money. They have a better chance of getting it if they support global warming. Why would they try to kill an industry they stand to get rich from? PS Al Gore is a nut case and last year on national talk like a pirate day, it was unseasonably cold. Coincidence? |
