How fast are you?

I found this very nice speed test for internet connection:

http://www.speedtest.net/

Mine goes up to 4.8 Mbps. So, how fast is yours?

Seems very server-dependent.

I'm on Comcast in Portland OR

11.56 dowm
0.37 up
Using San Jose server

14.19 down

Happy with the downlink, not with the uplink but I don't really use up bandwidth much. Just makes it slow to save big files to the company server.

My bigger bottleneck is how to get internet upstairs to my study. Wireless is really slow. Thinking about getting someone to run Ethernet cable. Only affordable way to do this will be to run it on the outside of the house - yuck.

many944s 03-03-2007 09:23 AM

Depends on my partner... :D

Sorry, had to say it!

3.4 Mbps here with the Chicago server.

But I think my wireless router is the bottleneck, not my cable broadband.

More than enough for what I use the net for. Even better it is only costing me 10 bucks a month. Road Runner Lite
