Bose Wave Radio - 2 Thumbs Up!!!
No, I don't work for 'em.
Needed a radio/CD player for my long hours at work, so I ordered one of these things this week to see if it was all it was cracked up to be. Wow! Great sound from such a little thing that looks like a nightstand clock radio. Well worth the $$$ for anyone into quality audio looking for a little unit to put in an office or garage or someplace like that not requiring a dedicated home theater system.

One came through my pawn shop, glad I didn't pay retail. Sounds good for its size but when it comes to speakers I think size does matter.

Yea, I usually don't like buying new but figured what the hey on this one. . . Once in a great while I guess.
The home theater system (next big $$$ purchase in the next year or two) will likely be a Craigslist or fleabay deal and not over-inflated "off-the-shelf" price.

My in-laws have the Bose Wave radio and I am impressed by it's performance, especially considering the size. Not for audiophiles, but for us "non-audiophiles", it's not bad!

I'm looking for something similar, but less expensive. Anyone know of an alternative that sounds good with a cd?

I've had one for about 10 years - sounds very nice for a clock radio.

BOSE makes some very, very good speakers. My 901s are still very good 20+ years on.

I also have the home theater series twelve. That one I would do differently next time. Since it is a radio freq. remote and most other stuff is infrared, you are stuck with two remotes. Grrrrrr!
