So I watched Gore's movie today.
Aside form the obvious, the main thing I took from it was how incredibly stupid Gore is. I can't believe it made it through editing that way.
The only possible excuse is that he was dumbing down the message for the masses, but it was too consistent though the different locations, times, flashbacks, etc.... I never thought he was brilliant, but I am shocked that he's this intellectually unimpressive. Weird.

Not doubting you or anything, but could you give a specific example of something he said that proves his lack of intellect? They can't all be brilliant like GWB, but I'm doubting that he is truly stupid.
Thanks in advance!

It wasn't a quiz show so it's not like he got answers incorrect or anything Denis
![]() Oh, and I don't mean that he appears stupid for believing the propaganda or anything like that, it is his presence and simplicity that will shock you.

I haven't seen the movie, but it can be hard to determine intellect by on-camera performance. For example, during the debates he sounded mentally handicapped when he kept saying "Loooock box," but I don't think he is really mentally handicapped.

Weren't his SAT scores lower than GW Bush's?
So while he may not be mentally handicapped, he is less smart than GW Bush. |

No. Gore is registered as having an IQ of 134-135. He has taken real standardized tests.
GW, based on tests taken during officer placement is in the 126-128 region. Kerry is in the 122-125 region, based on similar tests.

The real problem with technical issues is the media, not Gore.
The public is so badly informed by the media on these type of science-related issues that many aren't in a position to make a sound judgement.

The public is poorly informed on most issues. Anytime I see a story on something I have intimate understanding, they have it totally wrong.

I don't doubt that Gore has a reasonably high IQ, but that doesn't always tell the whole picture. I have a buddy in Mensa and he's quite deficient in many areas.

BTW Speeder, got about 15" of snow in the Northern suburbs this weekend. Buried my Audi in the median on Hwy 10 and it took the towtruck with a winch a half hour and the Police closing a lane of traffic to yank me out. ![]()

We all know you had your mind made up before watching the movie and were probably watching it solely with the intention of criticizing the hell out of it, so why should we place any stake in your predictable disdain for it?
No offense, but ANYONE can find fault with anyone else's work. Just like all the political bickering on here and elsewhere on the Internet - how much of it really ever changes anyone's mind? Most people (like yourself) have your minds made up to begin with, have your values set already, and are ALWAYS going to approach new information viewed through that lens. I'm no different - we all do it. We can SAY we're trying to be objective, but can anyone REALLY do it? I'd bet a million zillion dollars you didn't watch Gore's movie with the intention of approaching it with an "open mind", you watched it in order to be able to say you've seen it in order to add pseudo-legitimacy to your already established opinion, and to add to the appearance of giving both sides equal time to somehow make yourself (and your opinion) seem more credible. You watched it looking for ways to attack it, not looking for ways it might make an impression. So you watched it. Good for you. It didn't change your mind at all did it? BIIIIIIIIG effin' surprise there. . . ![]()

I don't really understand why he, or anyone else, would watch it unless you're rehearsing for a movie about modern alchemy. That's what the whole "man causes global warming" really is. It's akin to solar eclipse caused crop failures, sonic booms causing hens to quit laying eggs, and other urban myths. Only writ much larger.
