That is way cool! Tell you what, it would pinch the shyt out of your fingers if you were not careful!

That has to go for $3000+. I would love to make it. I wonder if the plans are available someplace?

That's pretty slick for a big dining room.

I worked for an idiot who wanted a round conference table for the boardroom, he still sat square in front of the projector screen and that was his special place, had to slide onto the table to reach the center if someone slid something across and it got stuck in the middle, also vbery inefficient use of space. Pretty silly. He was an MIT and Harvard MBA graduate, chairman fired him 3 years after he was hired and after we pissed away multi millions in screwed up acquisitions.

Any idea who makes it? Man, that's amazing. Genius design.

Amazing. Ingenious design.

And for the cost of it, you could have a "normal" sized round table and 3 or 4 additional, larger-sized rounds to put on it, depending upon how many people you wanted to seat. I don't think I'd buy one unless I had Gates-type money.

Cool, but I bet those cardboard accordion tables are way cheaper.

"Goodbye Folding Dining Room Tables...

Say goodbye to folding dining room tables and tables that expand via awkward drop leafs. Century Furniture's Radial dining table puts a new spin on expandable tables. If you turn the 60 inch round top, it glides apart to make room for eight "fence post" extensions that increase the table's diameter to 84 inches. Designed by Oscar de la Renta, the Radial table costs $22,850. (I guess those of us who can't afford that price tag are stuck with the folding dining room tables after all.)"

Zounds.

I'd like to edit my earlier post, to say that you could buy a decent mid-year 911, and have a table with extra rounds....

I'll keep an eye on overstock.com for this table, just in case. I'll keep y'all posted!

If it is patented then that would be a great source for the plans. I bet it could be done for under 5K.

I don't know, Lubey. I imagine there are some custom bearings/slides/cams in there that would be expensive to duplicate. If that table is in solid hardwood, you could burn up $4k just in materials w/o even thinking about it.

Another video of the same table, little better close-ups. That thing must also weigh about as much as a Early 911 !!

It is rather incredible from both a mechanical design and aesthetic fit too. Interesting to see how the wood grain was done on that table.

Of course this gives rise to the idea of - a normal square table that you would pull open and leafs would pop up from the center. More space feasible, less mechanicals. Use a fan fold type design perhaps.
