People have lived, died, fornicated and killed one another on every habitable corner of the planet. It's part of a places charm!

I have no idea what was seen but I really think some of you have been spending too much time in the Nevada desert with Art Bell.

All of the pics posted in this thread look like basic moving subjects with a very slow shutter speed. A little tweak with Photo Shop and you've got ghosts and energy ribbons.

Check out this site. http://www.rickdoble.net/paintingwithlight/
This type of art is really popluar these days. There have been how to articles in all the photog mags recently.

I hope you get it figured out. I'm very skeptical of the supernatural but the unexplained can certainly freak me out.

Joe

If you did not feel threatened by it then just let it be; seems like you already do that with the other going-ons in your home. If you do not like it then ask it to leave. Some things, like the divine, we do not yet understand scientifically but nevertheless witness their effects.

Worse. UNDER your house!

Jacksonville, Florida? Colorful history. Lots and lots of ghosts! You probably built your house on a Seminole burial site. Listen carefully. You might hear Osceola cussing you out right now!

na, thats just the dice rolling. Even in the afterlife the Indians have figuered out a way to cap the poor whitemans ghost money

My brother in law has a house in Lunenburg, NS that was built in 1758. He's a doctor who just moved to the area, and when he found the house he couldn't believe what a reasonable price it was. (yes, this story is predictable)

So he bought it.

A few days after signing the deal, he's at a yard sale in the area. He mentions that he just bough the house up the road. Old guy pauses, looks up over his glasses and says:

"Oh. Yer the fellah who bought the XXX house. That house has a lot of history, you know"
brother in law: "What do you mean, history?"
old man: "History, is what I'm sayin. Lotsa history"

Ya. So he starts asking around; everyone in the area knows this as the haunted house. Indian raids, scalpings, hangings... some fact some myth.

So he's getting a bit freaked. He goes to the neighbor on the adjoining property, another old guy.

Brother in law: "So, I keep hearing all these wierd stories about my house... like ghosts and stuff"
Old neighbor: "Ghosts? that's crazy talk. People have imaginations."
Brother in law: " Ok good, so you've never experienced anything weird or out of the normal"
old neighbor:"Naw, that all horse$hit. Although... now that you mention it, about 20 years ago there was an old shed between our properties. Every now and then there would be lights and a woman signing and howling, so we burned it down."

Pretty wild stuff. Turns out there really is a lot of history in that house, including previous owners who were murdered by their daughter's boyfriend while on vacation in the US.

Hey Lubby.. how has it been going with the Anxiety attacks since the wifes surgery. Many times we know something is wrong with a family member before it becomes apparent. I'm wondering if this is the case with U?

I have a friend who had a ghost in her house. He wasn't a bad ghost - he liked her. He would do things like throw all the cups out of the cabinet, lock her husband out of the house (after turning on the car interior lights outside so he would go out to turn them off), stand by the bed etc.

She talked to a conservative Catholic priest who told her that he could come and send the ghost on his way- but he warned her that sometimes if you send away a good ghost, bad ghosts will take its place and the good ghost is protecting you in some way.

Oh another odd thing - they gave away something from the house (a piece of furniture I think) and after that sometimes the ghost would go away for awhile, but at those same times the people with the furniture would have odd things happen in the next town.

Maybe it was a genie and the woman is sub-consciously wishing to have a new hubby :)

I'm a huge nay-sayer on all this stuff but I have been scared witless by something I can't explain, once. I was at my in-laws house and I was in the basement visiting with my wife and mother-in-law. No one else was home. They have an older 1930's house in Portland with a full attic complete with stairs.

I was asked to bring a duffel bag up to the attic and place it with the rest of the stored items. No problem, never even thought twice about it. When I got to the top floor and walked down the dead-end hall where the attic door was, I burst into goose bumps and could barely go forward. "This is stupid", I thought and made myself walk at a normal pace to the attic door. I opened it, reached around the corner, and turned on the light. The whole time I'm scared, petrified. I walked through the doorway and up the stairs. The attic was fully enclosed with no windows and just the one bare bulb hanging from the ceiling. Instead of placing it neatly in a corner, I put the duffel on the top of the stairs and turned around. The whole time I'm forcing myself not to turn around to check my back and/or break into a run.

When I got on the second to last step, I coolly reached over and turned out the light. I was still on the stairs and now the dark attic was to my back. "Dumb move", I thought right as a tumbling noise came bursting down the stairs after me. I leaped off the steps, slammed the door and flew down three floors all the way to the basement.

I came scurrying into the laundry room with both my wife and mother-in-law looking at me strangely. By then I had figured out what the noise was - the duffel bag had rolled own the steps after me. I had placed it close to the edge and there you have it. I told them the story and went up to check my theory. Again the same bad feeling.

I opened the door and turned on the light. I peered around the corner and there was the duffel bag….right at the top of the stairs. I pulled my head around the corner and turned off the light. Now a huge scraping sound was heard on the stairs but I didn't linger to investigate. Same scenario - I ran (yes like Forrest).

The attic is finished now with dormers looking out over the city, carpet, a bathroom. Really nice. I still hate going anywhere near there. As an aside my mother-in-law has many stories about odd things in the house.

I guess something's are hard to explain.

Thanks for all the late-night food for thought, guys. http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/chix.gif (Why did I read this thread? This house "settles" a lot at night.) I'm with Super Dave--glad I don't live in a place with any known (human) deaths. Gonna try to keep it that way. However, I think someone needs to make some sort of map of ancient Indian burial grounds, BTW.

This slightly weird guy moved into one of our apts and after a few weeks asked my mother if anyone had died in that apt . He claimed he would see this green cloud or smoke appear now and then. Of course we never told him the previous renter had shot himself thru the heart lying in bed several months before and lay there for 3 days before I found him. weird!

I know for a fact there are such things as ghosts.

I felt the presence of one, I just knew it was there, so I snapped a bunch of pictures, and sure enough, I could clearly see one visible in one of the pictures.

That was proof enough for me.

Got to look real hard to see that manifestation, good one.

My assistant is a realtor and she told me that she in under no obligation to tell a potential buyer if a murder or any spooky stuff has happened. So......always go ask a neighbor if any mass murders or crazy insane ladies lived in the house - before you buy.
