I'm about to rip this toilet off the floor!

This freaking Kohler, designer style toilet is a piece of ****!!! It's sleek, elegant, compact, nice color and all but if it can't do its job, what is it good for? Not a damn thing!

It's just like the freaking glass shower doors my wife wanted so bad in our bathroom. Water spots galore! And we have a water softener and squeegee the heck out of it after each use.

Anyway, does anyone have a recommendation for a good, strong, built for a man type of toilet? I'm chucking the Kohler this weekend.

One of my personal faves. The TITAN!!! What better name for a throne?

Good quality too - I've heard precious few complaints from people I know that have gone this route.

I've seen the name Toto thrown around. I have no experience with the brand.

Sure! Go to Canada or Mexico and get a real potty, one that flushes the old amount of water and gets the crap sent where it belongs, in the sewer system on the first shot!

Funny how the market for used potties out of older houses are still a hot item. Every time someone wants to remodel their house the old potties find a new home and fast.

Two words...

To To

All five toilets I own are now Totos. I will never buy anything else. Every toilet I ever take title to in the future (by virtue of property acquisition) will immediately be replaced with a Toto.

I speculate about buying up a supply of Totos just to have them on hand to meet future needs or in case some genius comes along and engineers the goodness out of them or some regulatory body screws them up.

Don't get the "sani-gloss" Totos, but that's just personal preference - and only because I dislike the "sani-gloss" logo they slap on them.

Buy the "handicapped" versions if you a tall (say over 6'). They sit a bit taller than normal and are more comfortable for taller people. Don't get turned off by the "American Association of Handicapped" (or whatever it is) seal of approval - these toilets do not look unattractive at all. Most people wouldn't even notice the slightly taller height.

Life is too short to tolerate crappy crappers.

and respect your Toto.

Be man enough to sit down to pee. To do otherwise in your own home is barbaric.

Teach your sons the same thing. My dad, the Colonel was man enough to teach us.

If you're uncomfortable about your masculinity and think it "unmanly" to squat - slap in a urinal.

When we built our new home I saved the toilets from the old house. As soon as we passsed inspection the new toilets where out and the old toilets went straight into my bathroom and my sons bathroom.
The new toilets just don't get it done

My 16 year old son is 6' 2" and 190 pounds. He eats constantly. By his own admission, the size of his dumps is staggering. He had to keep a plunger in arms reach constantly. After reasearching extensively, I bought a TOTO toilet. The thing is unstoppable. In more than a year, no clogged toilets. I replaced every toilet in the house with a TOTO.

TOTO huh? They are Japanese...

When I lived in Japan, I had a hole in the floor, a concrete holding tank and no flush.

Just like the cars - they have come a long way..

Now that your comode has been settled on, here is info on some shower glass. I know this company well and the glass will not stain or fog. I am going to install it on our doors so I can peek at my wife while she slathers up!

LOL, what a great thread.

cantdrv55, you haven't been very specific in your description of the problem at hand.

Heavy sinkers that plug, or floaters that take 2-3 flushes? Enquiring minds want to know.

Mike, This is what "Onebad911" wrote regarding glass doors and keeping them clean:

"I install these for a living use tekon on the glass..... it and the water beads off the glass like quiksilver!!!! glass is very pourous even though it seems smooth and the "stains" that are visible are actually mineral build-ups that actually accumulate in the pours-eventually "etching" the glass---tekon fills in the pours of the glass to eliminate any damage that may occur from water that is left on the glass.........for people looking to install brand new enclosures ask your glass installer for "showerguard"--this is a factory applied interior coating to the glass thatcarries a ten-year warranty----tekon is an aftermarket product that must be applied about once a year.....hope this helps"
