Off to India for 2 weeks.

Anyone need an elephant? How about a pair of Ashwarya Rai's used underwear? Anything can be had for a price, Mr Jones.....

Mostly in Karnal/Delhi. Prolly spend a few day in Chandigarh. Nothing better than chai on the roof garden of a home at dawn, as herdsmen in bright red head wraps (safas) herd camels along the quiet street.

Going to try an squeeze a few days into a stop over in Hong Kong. We shall see.......

Cheers.

Been there. Lived in Mumbai and Chennai for 2 years in the mid 80's. If you have not been there before, you are in for a bit of a shock. I still remember walking out of the airport in Mumbai(Bombay back then) and having to step over people. I guess, you either get disgusted or you feel touched by what other people are born into and have to live their lives in.

I've been before (my wife is Indian), but I don't think you ever quite get past the poverty. By most measures, India has advanced a great deal in the past 25 years. But you still encounter poverty that most in the West can't conceive of.

How about bringing me back a new old production (NOP?) Royal Enfield? Still made on abandoned British tooling, the old fashioned way.

Have fun over there. We still need to get together for some rifle shootin' when you get back. Oh, and there are still lots of .577/.450 Martinis floating around over there; see if you can stuff one in your carry-on for me.

I personally wasn't able to handle what I saw there. I had a pocketful of cash and these people were living in absolute, crushing poverty.

Be very careful of ANYTHING you eat. I am normally and last time one ice cube got me. Was down for 4 days, crawling from bed to potty. They took Cipro and life returned after 10 days.

You know the drill, just be careful... and enjoy the food!

Take pics and post them here! I'd go anywhere (well almost anywhere) once.
