Jordi, class III guns have to be expensive. How much to rent them? I know the ammo gets expensive very fast, like hundreds of dollars per hour. I guess I could start training my fiance to reload those big magazines real fast, so we can just keep on shooting.

Jordi,

If you can post a couple of pics of the "toys" at the gunshop. Will help the guys decide... I still miss the MP-5.

I think 9mm or 7.62mm is all I can afford for this kind of stuff. A Tommy gun would be crazy expensive for ammo.

Jordi,

Would they let us bring our own ammo? We could get ammo at "cheaper than dirt" for a descent price and have a LOT MORE FUN!

We could do a group by from GA Arms and have it delivered to one of our hotels. That would go over well with the concierge.

I'm really wrestling with the timing of this. I absolutely have to go to UT for the lady. I'm thinking of going to Zion as soon as we get to Vegas on Thurs. and coming back Sat. afternoon. I may have to miss the gun range stuff, as we'll be driving back from Bryce and I really want to see Colorado City on the way back. I figure we can get back to Vegas for dinner Sat. We fly out Mon. night on a red eye.

Check this web site --> http://www.americanshooters.com/therange.html# and select the 360 Panorama or the Range Rentals for some info. The guns change quite often, and this is only one of the many ranges available in town (this is the one I am member).

Class III guns can get expensive really soon, fortunately I am not a big Class III 'user' in static environments, from time to time I may get the silenced MP-5 and go over a couple of hundred rounds but is mostly stress relief therapy.

Rick, if you want to do Zion, Bryce, Lake Powell, etc. you may want to reconsider coming to town earlier than Thursday or plan to miss the UPM activities.

Joe, is not 'politically correct' to bring your own ammo when you are renting a gun (I don;t even think that they will allow that) if you plan to bring your own (long) gun and ammo make sure it is lead free.

Joe, that is just the 'static' list .... one day you may find a Glock 18 (yes the full auto one) or some heavy military hardware (M60, M240), you never know ...

Rick,

Jordi's route is 670 miles and just about a days worth of driving. With stops to see stuff you could do this in two days easily.

Joe is correct, I forgot that I usually travel with wife AND kids, take twice as long, costs twice and much and enjoy LESS than half.

Rick,

Going Vegas to Page AZ, the NE part of the Indian Res, then returning by the same route is 560 miles.

The drive from Page to Flag, then back to Vegas is kinda bland after seeing Utah, so might just take the same route back.

Colorado City is on the top part of the route that Jordi laid out. Just East of St. George Utah. Its on highway 59/369
that connects with Fredonia.

I want to see Colo. City because it's so off the beaten path and I loved Krakauer's book on it.

Just checked in on this thread.

Memorial Day weekend I am out. Wife is in a wedding in Michigan that weekend. And no, I can't cut out on my own.

No class III stuff here, but will be bringing a Kimber 1911 and a couple hundred rounds to play with. Now if we can only get Todd to commit, and bring his Sigs!
