I'm sorry, I'm too lazy to look back thru 5 pages of this thread, but someone said that their attitudes changed after having lived abroad.

I'd like to second that comment. It's only here, in this country, that this type of problem, and the discussion that it engenders, comes up.

I'm pretty sure CC is only slightly blonde. Wouldn't make a damn bit of difference to me. She's got a brain and the bod to match. Wow...

btw, there are dozens of black comedians who say "white people" jokes all the time.. and it's not news. how is that?

It is not news b/c we are not a bunch of cry babies walking around with our hands out waiting for the next hand-out like Al and Jesse and oh yhea we also have a sense of humor. The only reason rasicm is still around today is mostly b/c of activists like Sharpton and Jackson b/c if there were no racism there would be no Al and Jesse. I think it is a shame that thier race has not called those two losers out and kicked them out of the public eye. If they were a part of my race I sure would.

What was it they did to warrant hours of tv coverage yesterday and their photo on the front page of the Wash. Post today? They aren't even the champs.

They were called names. The Washington Post sells papers (the tearful photo was so touching...) CNN, ABC, CBS and the rest sell advertising. Most (if not all) of those compete directly with MSNBC which also sells advertising.

Frankly I think they (and everyone) oughta get over it accept the apology and move on.

But the press will drag this out for as long as they think it increases their sales of advertising. They don't care who they hurt or who they help.

Its all a load of crap, AL and Jesse should be 100X more offended by what is said in Rap Music than what some 60 year old man dressed like a cowboy on holloween said.

Imus lost what little respect I had for him (I used to listen to him on WNBC AM in NYC when I was very young) when he was kissing Jesse and Al's butts.

The team lost my respect when they did a press conferance turning the whole thing into a circus.

I simple press release from the teams coach would have been a classy move.

Now, I am finding the entire media circus entertaining. Its even made Anna Nichole stories side notes.

Imus should grow a pair and say "I called it like I saw it. If they don't like it, too bad - that's life. Not everyone's going to like you".

I mostly disagree with his assessment but an important lesson these kids should be learning in college is that sometimes EARNING respect involves a lot of work and even then, there are some people that will never give it to you. Sad, but that's life.

If so, this is an incredibly goofy, silly matter. That statement means nothing, it's so non-specific as to be meaningless. He probably doesn't know a single thing about any of those basketball players. People think he seriously called these national level college basketball players hookers? He doesn't know anything about their sexual proclivities.
