BINGO- the ho started it. What was I thinking? You are eminently correct.
|
I don't think the Ho called the team and asked if she could come over and dance for them....
|
So what? Are you trying to insinuate the white boys started it? How dare you.
The Ho (presuming capitalization is correct) took the call, came over and danced and then falsely accused them of rape. The DA made like and equally false accusations after it was determined that the HO was lying, withheld evidence and the media brewed up a firestorm, published the boys pictures and falsely accused them by inference (and directly for all I know). For you to infer they started it is reprehensible. You must be Jesse's b*tch. |
Ah stripping is legal there URY914 and I am sure she was advertsing her "profession" somepalce that led them to her. The DA was very wrong as well but he DIDN"T INITIATE the whole thing. The ho did when she made up this whole story and reported the lies.
|
URY's point, and it's a good one, is that it takes a group of dumba$$ white boys to poney up the cash and make a phone call for this whole thing to even have a chance of happening.
Lay with dogs and you get bit. If i were one of those fellows i can tell you my family would never let me live down what a stupid decision it was to invite a stripper into a frat house full of relatively rich white boys. Dumbasses every one of them. |

What is ho? never heard of it until Imus used it. But then, I don't listen to those rappers who seem to be mainly young arrogant black males who abuse females in their lyrics worse than Imus ever dreamed.
Where I come out is this is a complicated issue. Imus, of course, is an arrogant media-type and stupidly said the wrong thing--dumping on black females on TV is a kiss of death these days for a white male. Look at that Duke lacrosse situation, and it gives you an idea about the climate in this country right now caused by political correctness and how people can exploit it. But I have no sympathy for Imus, because he should have known that sooner or later, his irreverent abuses were going to bite him. I don't like arrogant mediots--right or left--but I also think political correctness sucks. |
Have any of you never attended a batchelors party? Ever been to a strip club? Were you ever freaking teenagers?
A good point? And then you compound that stupidity by inferring that strippers are dogs?? Stripping is no crime- I know more than a few women who did it and one who still does. It's not the most glamorous of professions (in the US) but it puts bread on the table. I don't think less of any woman who does it and would not question the morals of any one who enjoyed watching it. In many societies it's actually a ritual and an honored profession. I imagine the only older profession is prostitution. I can't believe some of you think this way. You profess to want to respect the dignity of the women from Rutgers and justify the treatment of Imus by inferring that strippers are dogs and that those boys started their nightmare by calling a stripper who freely and legally advertised her services. Absolutely amazing double standards. |

That is amazing. One of life's experiences to be checked off.
Not they're that great or that I enjoy them anymore (in fact I'll probably never visit one again) but for me they were kind of a ritual, part of being in the Army, part of bachelor parties, etc. They are also a very bad memory for me and my family- my brother was severly burned in one (50% third degree), a stripper was also severely burned, and a black guy with the same name (also awaiting discharge from the Armed Services as was my brother) was killed. DOA at Ft. Sam Houston. And the stupid part it was a racial fight- some white bikers got in a fight with some of the black guys, they left and returned with a bucket of gasoline which they threw in the club and ignited. I was outside at the time and didn't see them but it was a terrible night. We were trying to get in and the people inside were screaming trying to get out. The stripper was also a seamstress who lost the use of her hands. My brother is severely retarded as a result. All of our families got to know each other pretty well. Hence I take a bit of umbrage at any form of racism- white or black- and the denigration of strippers. They also never caught the b*stards. |

Do any of you think a movie would have been "greenlighted" called "Black Chicks" starring Owen Wilson and Rob Schneider??

The stripper chose to be a stripper and expose herself to the real potential for something like this to happen. Her mistake. Nifong was running for re election and wanted the minority vote. There was certainly enough doubt that this thing could have gone away day one. He chose to pursue it and probably hoped Al and Jesse would climb on board. He was motivated by his own personal quest. Guns are relatively benign until you pick them up, point them and even then you still need to pull the trigger. IMHO Nifong pulled the trigger. It was within his power to stop this before it escalated. But that's not what he wanted. The team and stripper are guilty of putting themselves in a situation where they could be used as pawns. |
I would agree except for one thing. Anyone should be able to call a stripper and not expect this or have it be called a mistake.
But without knowing the details of what happened I can certainly agree they may have made a mistake. And if I insulted you- or anyone- I apologize. Just have strong feelings about this. |
I realize that when you throw together beer, college guys in thier 20's, and money to spend, you're asking for trouble. But someone has to ask if these guys are smart enough to get into Duke don't they know right from wrong? Hiring a stripper to come over to the house is stupid. They made this call.
No I don't hold them responsible for the entire ordeal. A stripper who lies and a DA that withholds the truth are much more responsible. But the boys made the first mistake even if it was just a lack of judgement. |
