Is This a Lewd Expression?

Last weekend, we were having a few beers with some friends. I noticed that one of our friends, a women, was just about done so I said to her “Andrea, can I tighten you up?” My Wife, Andrea and the other women started cracking up. My Wife said in astonishment “WHAT?”. I did not really know what the issue was. “Do you want another beer? Do you want to get tightened up? What’s the deal?” I said.

I guess the women thought I was suggesting I wanted to have sex with her. Her husband and the other guys thought the expression was great. No one had ever heard it before.

Have any of you ever asked someone if you could ‘tighten them up’ in reference to getting them another drink?

It's a bit more abstract, but when asking a woman if she wants another drink, I often as if I can "loosen her labia."

well, there is that surgical procedure that tightens them up,

and the "tighten up", or "freshen your drink"

but never heard that application before........ maybe they thought you were giving out "snuggies"?

where i come from, Flanders , Belgium, we just order booze whenever we see enough near empty glasses, without asking...
it's like poor form to let folks go dry, and also to allow them to turn down a drink when they can still talk or walk...

so i can't relate to yer problem Lube...

I've heard it coming from the mouths of some old redneck friends of mine... ususally referred to with "mix dranks" but occasionally with the beer.... not that they drink decent beer...

It can be a lewd expression...if you say it right.

I thought drinks were to "loosen one up", not "tighten one up". Weird expressions. . .

Maybe it makes their pants feel tighter if they get bloated from it.

Down here, telling someone to tighten up means get back to work, get the job finished.. or sometimes you have to tighten up someone and pay them the money you owe
