Democrat Debate tonight

Did anyone see the debate from South Carolina of the Democrat Presidential candidates?

In one breath, they all say that there is no problem that can't be solved by bigger government. In the next they all say that we need change.

How does more socialist federal government programs equate to "change" after nearly a century of out-of-control growth of the federal government?

The debate wasn't even good for comic value, it was a snore-fest. The only thing I learned was how none of them can follow the rules and they all felt no obligation to answer the question asked of them. It was a sorry performance.

That said, if the Republicans hold a similar event, I expect little more than spiffy rhetoric unless some of the serious dark-horse types show up.

Watched part of it until it became a free for all then changed channels.

If someone wants to become the leader of our country, one might think that they can follow the rules. When this ended they lost me as a viewer...

it was a hug fest

they trash the White House in union so they don't have to criticize each other.

Obama received a nice viewing and Hillary didn't turn off any more of her supporters. Richardson was the only one with a bit of class.

the bigger government issue appeals to the lower classes and not any more to anyone in control of his retirement. They've been turned into mini capitalists. Same will happen to all these college students once they taste the real world.

The only issue the Dems will have is Bush hate and a hoped for Iraq failure of "Bush's war".

Until Obama starts calling Hillary a "tree-stump-thighed closet lesbian" and Hillary starts calling Obama "an empty 'make-me-feel-good' whigger" as part of a caged match replete with folding chairs to bash each other over the head with, it won't be worth watching.

J/K of course. I predict it'll end up being little more than a bunch of grandstanding politicians spewing the usual empty rhetoric to one another - blathering a lot, but saying nothing and refusing to commit to a position on anything. . . On BOTH sides.

So far the best candidate (the one with the clearest message and agenda/specific policy suggestions) is CO Rep. Tom Tancredo. Sadly, he probably has a snowball's chance in hell of actually winning.

I'm glad someone caught the double-entandre on "whigger". I try.

Here's a link to Tancredo's web site. http://tancredo.house.gov/ He basically is HUGE on securing the border and ending illegal immigration, a return to fiscal conservatism, smaller government and a strong military.

Although he caught flak for it, I LOVED when he was quoted on an Orlando radio station interviewer as saying he'd "take out Muslim holy sites" in the event there was another terrorist attack on the U.S. proven to be by Al Qaeda or other extremist Muslim organizations. He refused to apologize for his comments subsequently on CNN. Good.

Simple, brilliant, no B.S. That's what we need right now.

Hope that the voters eventually open their eyes about this beyotch...

Jeff,

Why is Tancredo a Democrat? I briefly looked at his sight and his bullitized ambitions DONT reflect the general motives of the Left Party.

Please Articulate!

Joeaska,

Your a funny too...Hitlery...Beyotch....We need to form an alliance against the 60-4 leftys/conservatives on this site.

What branch of the service were you in?

Bob

Tancredo is most certainly not a Dem. He's a Rep. from CO. I like just about anyone who says what they think and refuses to apologize under pressure. That's a rare breed.

From Fox news today....

WASHINGTON — A flock of small jets took flight from Washington Thursday, each carrying a Democratic presidential candidate to South Carolina for the first debate of the political season.

For Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton, Barack Obama, Chris Dodd and Joe Biden, it was wheels up shortly after they voted in favor of legislation requiring that U.S. troops begin returning home from Iraq in the fall.

No one jet pooled, no one took commercial flights to save money, fuel or emissions.

All but Biden, who flew on a private jet, chartered their flights — a campaign expense of between $7,500 and $9,000.

They could have argued over who will win the war.
