used to run a restaurant - was driving home about 3 am and found it a huge waste of time to sit at every damn light when not a single car was in sight
so one night i "ran" about 10 or 12 lights after slowing and looking for traffic Cop pulls me about 5 miles from home cop - I am pulled you over for running a red light back there me - (in a tired annoyed tone) Oh yeah, which one Lawyer got that one dismissed

I pull up to a red light and while waiting, a bike cop pulls up to my right and asks "Are you speeding"? I turned to him and said "No, I am stopped at a red light". A bit frustrated, he asks "Were you speeding back there"? I answer, "I don't think so, but that white car may have" <- pointing to the car left of me. He asks me to wait and when the light turned green, he pulled the other car over.
True story, there were three white cars (mine was one) at the time, but I was actually not speeding at that moment in time. Oh yeah, I had the lowered, tinted VW Scirocco.

Cops here don't bother to pull you over, they just bust a cap in yo' ass.

A few weeks ago I was on a spirited run down a windy 4-lane road near home, weaving (safely) around slower cars. I came around a corner at about 70 (in a 35), and there was the cop with the radar.
He pulls me over and says, "You have one chance to get out of the ticket. How fast were you going?" Me, "I don't know, I couldn't look at the speedometer while making those maneouvers." He laughed and let me go. I think cops appreciate honesty.

yes they do appreciate honesty. pulled over twice for expired license plate, expired inspection sticker and one of those times no title or registration. told them my story, checked it out and let me go since I was honest. one of those times I somehow stepped on the trooper's shiny shoe.. he laughed when I dropped to my knees and shined it with my shirt sleeve. let me go with no plates, no registration, no title, no inspection and expired license. 60 something Triumph Spitfire and once in the 77 Corvette. didn't have to shine his shoes that time but had to throw $100 worth of merchandise out the window before pulled over.

I've always liked "Officer, I'm just trying to maintain a safe distance between me and the cars behind me"...

one time I was pulled over on my harley doing over 100 in a 25, when asked why, I explained I have been trying to get to a store for a week but always get off work too late.. this was my one chance to make it there before they closed.. let me go. my friend was pulled over doing way over 100 bringing me home after surgury. so drunk he was complaining about the idiot following him so close with the blue lights. had to hang on the truck to stand up. cop saw me and asked if I could drive him home he would let him go.. have no idea how he recognized me sitting in the truck. I had to explain I had a shotgun sitting on the floor I just bought so I wouldn't get shot accidently you know. he said he wasn't worried about me.. have no idea who he was.. a detective told me once that they are advised to knock first and ask to come in my and my brother's houses. don't know why i deserve that kind of reputation. they usually let me go with just a warning around town. and that's been many times

I had the laser jammer from lidatek in my M5. Got rid of the car before I ever got lased. But here are a couple of pix of the install: Front: see a ~2x3 rectangular box under the plate: ![]() Rear: same transmitter on top of the plate. I built up the plate frame so that it wouldn't be so noticeable: ![]() It's not normally recommended to pay the price for a rear transmitter but given the speeds the car could attain I didn't want to take any chances. My most recent "freebie"
Had met a friend at lunch and on the way back to the office I was on a very wide 4 lane road (wide enough for at least 6 lanes). Speed limit is 25 mph. Light turned green and I took off. Saw the lights behind me and pulled over. He never told me how fast I was running but I know it was north of 70 mph. He came to the car and before he say anything I handed him my license and registration and apologized for my speed - told him I just got a wild hair up my ass. He came back and gave me a warning and a rather stern lecture on the dangers of speed. He of course barked his tires leaving ![]()

LEO: Do you know why I stopped you?
Me: Because I was doing 90 in a 35. Do you know why I was doing 90 in a 35? LEO: This should be good. Me: So you'd pull me over instead of my friend with 50 pounds of pot in his car...

My favorite was the cop that came to my front door in Austin:
Cop, "Is that your motorcycle in the driveway?" Me, "which motorcycle?" (there were three in the driveway) Cop, "the Honda" Me, "which Honda?" (me and my two roommates all road Honda's) Cop, "DID YOU JUST GET OFF YOUR MOTORCYCLE!" Me, "Yes sir." Cop, "A black motorcycle cop down the street clocked you over 50 in 35 and so did I. Slow it down in town, that type of riding belongs out in the country." Me, "Yes sir." (no ticket was written and my roommate, who was always in trouble, came out of hiding) I mentioned this story to my elderly neighbor. He said many police cars and bikes drive by your house when you come home. ![]()

"Do you know why I stopped you?"
"You found out about your wife and me?" "You thought I was your connection?" "You just decided to swing the other way?" "I'm the 1000th car to nearly blow your doors off this afternoon? What do I win?" "Well, the last guy said I was speeding. What's your excuse?" "To see if that POS you're driving would really do 135?" "Well, it probably isn't for the Uzi under the seat." Disclaimer: Use of any or all of these replies may cause you to be late for work. ![]() Les

Don't you know why you pulled me over?
Got pulled over in my wife's truck once. He said he clocked me at 50 in a 35. I told him I just pulled out of the bank, and that truck would not get to 50 in that distance. He continues writing the ticket, gives it to me and I notice the JP is a friend of mine(small town) I tell the cop I was planning to have dinner with the Judge that night anyway and would talk to him about it. He actually took the ticket back, young guy
