I shoot for fun. Clays mostly, but I am not opposed to the occasional pheasant or turkey hunt. I do not hunt deer or any other large game. Hell if I want a roast, it's just easier to go to Publix. I have a friend that has hunted BIG game in Africa. I REALLY don't get that. You have to tell your guide what you want to kill, pay them IN ADVANCE, and then they take you to whatever it is you want to shoot. There is a schedule of fees based on what you want to shoot. The meat goes to the natives and you get the rest to mount or stuff. I really don't undestand why you would want to shoot a giraffe.

Wolves kill animals, we should kill the wolves to keep them from killing animals, then the deer can overbreed and starve when there isn't enough food to go around...Yeah, lets not kill deer.

Honestly, we as humans should not just sit back and go "natures" way, natures way is cruel and hard. We should take an active role in protecting the planet - and sometimes that means killing an elephant, or a deer. To jsut go out and slaughter, I don't agree, but there are times you need to take a situation in hand.

Every couple years where I live, the deer population gets too great for the land, and they starve and die. I'd rather someone have hunted them before hand, and had the benefit of good meat. Humans have the ability to drasticly change the balance of life, for good, or bad. To tie our hands, is not right. Neither to go and do whatever we want. We have to take care of the world, not let it go its own way, its our job.

If you hunt you are actually practicing to kill people. Also shooting clays, paper targets, or beer cans is practice for shooting innocent people to death. I learned this in PPOT.
