Apologies to my liberal friends
Based on the details I've heard on the deal struck between the Senate and the White House on "immigration", I agree with the lefties...perhaps not for the same reasons, but I agree.
George Bush is among the worst Presidents of all time.

This is not new. This is the result that Ronald Reagan supported and that Bush1 supported, and now Junior... Their money comes from large corporations that need an underclass of workers with low education and expectations. While they are cooking up that new underclass in the poorer parts of America, workers from South of the border are esssential. Democrats also get their money from corporations that need 'illegals.' So there really isn't a party that has a reason to resist amnesty. I'm not one of those people who think 'illegals' are the greatest threat to America. I have more than a few friends whose businesses rely on workers who arent' citizens, and a few of those workers are my friends. But I'd support a non-hysterical dialog on the issue. It's not on the horizon because of who controls the major political parties we have now.

my advice is to not vote, it only encourages them.
the best thing would be if there was a space on the ballot for "none of the above". or maybe all the candidates should be put in a room together to run the country by committee. force them to put up or get out. |

Now my understanding is that an agreement has been reached, but it has yet to be passed by either the Senate or House--it's just a verbal thing. We all know how good the word of a politician is...
Still, Bush sold us out on this one. There is no denying that. I've seen him take a hard line on less (and more) important issues. Clearly it was deserved here.
