Throw her in jail for 20 years or so and maybe she will get the message. Clearly she does not understand right now.

Interesting. Doesn't MADD advocate for increased responsibility for hosts and event organizers?

Quote:
After the meeting, Moffitt hugged Unfried and MADD victim's advocate Becky Gage. Unfried said Moffitt's voice "sounded funny." Gage smelled alcohol on Moffitt's breath.
...
Gage said she had no reason to try to stop Moffitt from leaving the panel Monday.

"We have to assume that those people didn't drive themselves there," she said.
From the MADD site:

Quote:
How will I be held responsible if one of my guests is involved in a crash?

The laws vary from state to state, but you could be held responsible for the costs associated with the crash, including medical bills and property damage and be sued for emotional pain and suffering.
Good thing she wasn't in an accident, looks like MADD coulda been in big trouble.

'Why Wasn't She In Jail?'
Moffitt has been convicted of DUI at least five times. Another charge was dropped, and the disposition of a case from Pennsylvania is unknown.

Tuesday morning, Moffitt had her first appearance in court, via video from jail, on the latest DUI charge. When Judge Walter Heinrich saw how many times Moffitt had been arrested for DUI, he thought it was a mistake. Her eight DUI charges don't include her 1996 arrest for public intoxication on an airplane and making a terroristic threat on an airplane.

Heinrich said Moffitt should be held without bail at Falkenburg Road Jail because she is a flight risk and a danger to the community.

I think the post and article is misleading.

The deal is that some repeat DUI offenders are made to go listen to the stories of folks in MADD who have lost family members to drunk drivers. This woman is NOT a member of MADD. She's someone who's such a habitual drunk driver that part of her punishment/rehabilitation is to listen to folks talk about their dead babies.

Yes, she should have her license revoked, but you know what? It wouldn't matter, she'd keep driving and keep driving drunk.

Strange, I don't think it is misleading at all.

That is the unfortunate truth, They should jack the jail up and chuck her under it. There is no excuse for the amount of cracks this woman has fallen through.
